1. Dump all recruits he did not recruit
2. Replace those dead beats with walk on try outs
3. Find a stud qb

TN has enough revenue to survive low attendance to allow Pruitt time to rebuild the program. TN is undersized in many positions and in many positions that we are SEC size the team is slow and lacks quickness. Jones recruited to a spread system and Pruitt runs a Pro Set. To make matters worse we are not that young of a team. Compare TN to other 5-7 teams such as USC and we are not very close in potential to where they are going. What talent UT does have is mentally beat down and I doubt the Pruitt style can rehabilitate them. I would hope if we have any staff change the replacement has extensive experience recruiting the JUCO ranks. TN needs immediate help NOW to have any chance of repeating the lofty 5-7 level we have achieved. We have to buy time to upgrade the roster.

I subscribe to the Groundhogs Day theory of doing it over until you get it right. UT is now at the point where they can bring any qualified or unqualified coach in and have a record similar to Pruitt within a plus or minus win. What the fans need to see from a first year head coach, is steady improvement being made from week to week on the field.
Pruitt was unable to deliver that. So off with his head and move on to the next "Do You Want To Be A Multi Millionaire Coach?".

You should if you fire Pruitt this year. He did not deliver this year, but only idiots would say that after a first year. I don't think Pruitt is the answer to your woes, but apart from straight up criminal offense, a Head Coach should have more than one year to win, in fact at least 3 years.

He's going to fail here, but there's no reason to fire him.

He will recruit decently and get the roster to the point of an average SEC team. No reason to fire him until we get a competent athletic department. No telling how long that will take, if it ever happens.

Very good analysis that's why the defense is so bad even on a good defensive play that's stops them at 5 or 6 yards because they can't she'd the blocker and get upfield and make a tackle-. Like the teams we play do

Yeah, let's fire a coach that actually improved the team in his first year having to use a horrible coaches players of which some had piss poor attitudes. That sounds like a brilliant idea.

Ok, I’m trolling here but if I’m a potential up and coming oc or dc I’d happily take the Tennessee job! Knowing that if I do, I only have to work three years max of a much longer contract and I get to cash out as soon as the fan base gets vicious and pressures my firing! I get millions for doing not jack crap at the end!

Takes two years to know if he has "it", imo. The first half of that didn't look so good, at all imo, but smart money gives him another year no matter what kind of season we had, outside of felonious acts and all.

Of course we may know he isn't it a year from now and it'd two more years to get rid of him.
I want him to knock it out of the park instead. GBO!!!

If you believe Pruitt was a mistake and your username is legit you have no reason to believe #4 is magic.

Hes getting a minimum 3 years and unless he goes backwards from this year over those 2 will get more unless you can get Fulmer removed before then.

Yeah I have my doubts too. Really disappointed that there was almost no improvement as the season progressed. I know we won two games as underdogs but still losing to Missouri and Vandy like we did doesn’t give us much confidence that the future is going to be much better. Always next year again.
