Reason number 11,438 why gun control is broken in this country, and demonizing guns has gone way way too far.

Kid does pretty much everything right, and gets punished for it because muuuuhhhhhh guns are bad.
One student gives another student, 11 yo, a loaded pistol to hold for him. This kid then goes to class and unloads the gun, throws away the bullets, and disassembles the gun, hiding the pieces, because he knew guns weren't allowed and didn't want anyone hurt. That kid gets expelled. Even after the school learns the truth of the matter they keep him expelled. Because guns are bad.
Yeah he should have told an adult, but surely that flaw is not worth explussion. He didn't tell an adult because he was scared what reporting it would mean. Turns out his fears were right. He was scared of how people would react to him doing the right thing because guns have been demonized to the point of guilt by association.
This clearly needs to change.
