Gun control debate (merged)

It's pretty simple. I believe in both the woman's right to choose and the person's right to keep and bear arms, and that rational and reasonable restrictions can and should be placed on both.

Consistency - you guys should try it out sometime.
You would have made a great TSA agent. “You’re unborn fetus must fit inside this box”.

I believe a woman has the right to choose.
I believe we have the right to keep/bear arms.

No other qualifiers are needed.

How is my position inconsistent?

And, stop with the abortion nonsense. Wrong thread and completely unrelated (and not mentioned in the Constitution). Oh, and call a spade a spade, as everything in life is a "choice." You believe women should be able to kill their unborn babies.
That’s actually my fault. I brought that in here.

I’ll stop.

So you're for allowing a woman to choose to have an abortion in the 9th month when it is not medically necessary?
Well, I' not.

LOL, right. Ripping apart and a baby and sucking it out is just a choice.

Do that to puppies, put it on Instagram or Twitter, and see what kind of response you get.

I know it makes it easier to digest when you call something a "choice." Other choices I've faced this morning:
- coffee or no?
- what to read as devotional
- shower?
- what to wear
- drive in my lane or oncoming traffic?
How is an abortion pill crushing a skull, severing limbs, ripping a baby apart, and sucking it out?

You and I both no IT IS NOT. Your stance is stupid and inconsistent.
Get out of you black or white 2-dimensional world - it's not reality.

I hate to break it to you, but 85% of the population would view that shirt simply as saying "I'm Not Very Bright".

Think about how you might view a BLM shirt, a vagina hat, or an LBGTQ rainbow unicorn shirt. Now multiply whatever negative connotations you have by 5, and you have a taste of how you would be viewed.
the average American is dumb.
The average American thinking someone else is dumb may not be the insult you think it is. ESPECIALLY, when that 85% is like you, and admit enforced ignorance on the subject matter they are accusing others of being dumb over.

popularity is an absolutely reprehensible way to determine appropriateness of someone else's belief. congrats on never leaving high school.

It’s not a matter of whether it’s my right to have something. The point is that it’s not their right to ban others. It’s amazing how peoples view on this changes when I swap the scary gun for the word abortion.
i have a right to a gun. I, nor does anyone, have the right to take another human life, no matter the tool used.

Your accusations miss the mark.....by a long shot.
I agree that popularity is no indicator of correctness. Sometimes it even seems the reverse - Fox News anyone?

what accusation? The self enforced ignorance? You have admitted that multiple times in this thread.

and I agree, Fox News is a great example of a popular something not being good.

you have admitted that you actively avoid learning about the things we try to tell you about with guns. I believe your interactions with GV has shown this multiple times where you back out of the conversation instead of dealing with the facts that are brought up.

you admit to not knowing what various terms mean around guns. you admit to not knowing about the various laws actually in place, and often have to resort "well we should do more" without knowing what the starting point is. or how that "more" has played out in other examples.

You just relied on popularity to determine the validity of how someone else dresses. that speaks of high school to me. you were attempting to shame someone else on their choice of clothing because you think, right or wrong doesn't matter, other people might take exception to and/or make judgements based on it.

Having no interest is not the same as actively avoiding.
I'm not sure if you guys actively avoid rational thought on the gun debate or simply have no interest in applying rational thought.
Your last paragraph simply makes no sense. I simply stated how the attire would be viewed by most and provided a process in which you guys could comprehend.

It's more about the mentality it represents.

The mentality it represents is logic and truth. The gun is a tool that won't do anything by itself, it isn't like it has a mind of its own. The person shooting it is the weapon.

There is simply no way to argue those facts, and the fact that you think that is a laughable mentality is, well, laughable. It's a ridiculous, inconsistent, and stupid opinion.

This is rich.

Of course. Trying to profit off of dead kids

I don't know. He simply inserted an amendment that allows it, not requires it. Nobody has to hire private security firms, but if it is cheaper and saves the taxpayer money, that is a decision localities should be able to make. I don't see an issue, at the end of the day security of the schools is the most important part.
