Gun control debate (merged)

What an absurd take. Do you honestly think you are making a point?

And for the 347th time. Not a single person on here has ever once heard me advocate for the elimination of all guns.
Yeah, the next thing you know he’ll post some outlandish hypothetical, such as a condom for raping little boys, that no one will stock in store or online, because they’ll be promptly run out of business, even if they were senseless enough to do it. But somehow it could become the primary condom of choice for predators who’ll never think “this has to be a trap”.

Some people…

I've been amazed at how frequently some of you guys can only process a point when it is taken to a ridiculous extreme.

So do we need background checks on cotton bale presses? What about the baling rate of a press? What X over Y that is acceptable? And should ATF been involved as automatic strappers are scary looking black pieces that are optional attachments that allow an even greater X over Y!

WE MUST BAN ASSAULT PRESSES!

The Founders never could have imagined the velocity of information, nor the ability to reach millions, when they crafted the 1st Amendment.

We must be reasonable and rational here, and look at it through a 21st century lease. They never would have wanted this…

Protesting can only take place in supervised, designated areas where it doesn’t interfere with anyone else who doesn’t give a s***.

I imagine there is some training for anyone who operates one, that there is a rate above which is deemed unsafe by OSHA and liability insurers, and I haven't a clue as to what a strapper is - but it very likely is something that would make sense to ban.

Answer my first reply? You skipped right over that one.

60 rounds in 120 seconds. That was you in the Uvalde thread.

What will be left if you get what you want?
I will take you at your word that at some point I said 60 rounds per 120 seconds - I would love to see the actual post.
But I am 100% sure that I said multiple times that the ratio would be negotiated and compromised on by people far more knowledgeable about guns than me. It's sort of why I consistently used x and y.

If I get what I want, then most everyone would own the guns they currently have and be able to purchase additional guns in the future if they so desired.

What's Fing stupid is the tired and simpleminded position that guns are not a problem because they have to be used in order to be a problem.
There will be no compromise on the 2a.
Cars
Trucks
Electrical
Pretty much everything we use daily can be a problem in the wrong hands. It’s humorous when the simplest call others simpletons

X & Y went out the window when you slipped up and adopted 60 rounds in 120 seconds - you can’t un-ring that bell.

We never know if your original posts are still available to see…… But I immediately quoted that one the second I saw it.

Everyone’s guns will be gone if you get 60/120

Un-ring the bell? What in the hell would that bell be?
I have a hard time accepting that you are as simpleminded as you come across.
Find the post if you feel it is that significant.

That’s what you latched on to? A well known legal analogy?

It simply means you can’t “un-say” something. The bell here would be the 60 rounds in 120 seconds.

I’m not surprised you would rather discuss a simple quip.

I thought it was 800-1000 RPM. What happened to that number?

That was a different thread - and just as ridiculous.

The numbers I’m referring to came from the Uvalde thread.

The shooter got off something like 58 rounds in 119 seconds - Luther was aghast.

Luckily for us, we have the current leftist administration working feverishly to destroy ALL of those things that you listed that we use in daily life (plus many others you didn't list).

Weapons that fire more than x rounds in y seconds.
The purchase of more than x weapons in y time.
That's never going to happen. Leftists would simply then state that conservatives agreed that infringing on Americans constitutional rights is okay. Otherwise, they wouldn't have agreed to these limitations. Then, the leftists would change x and y to ban every firearm.

It's already well established that gun control and regulation is not an infringement.
