Gun control debate (merged)

Give me an example of a problematic gun that wasn’t used by a criminal to commit a crime?
Seriously? How many young kids have accidentally been killed by a sibling?

And how about the senile 72 year old in KC?

So out of 400+ million that’s what you got? Unfortunate accidents happen with virtually everything. Just imagine the kids you cause harm by the way you vote.

If you're worried about accidental deaths of children then you should. You're only worried about the 1 you're politically told to worry about. Your goal them is not to save lives
Who's not worried about accidental deaths of children?
Your assertion is ridiculous.

False is the idea of utility that sacrifices a thousand real advantages for one imaginary or trifling inconvenience; that would take fire from men because it burns, and water because one may drown in it; that it has no remedy for evils, except destruction. The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are of such a nature. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

Yes, clearly the existence of those things increases the chances that they will be used in a harmful way. As the existence increases, the probability that they will be used in a harmful way increases.
Kind of like knives,
alcohol,
motor vehicles,
swords,
hammers,
cotton bale presses (yes, someone has been murdered with one. Have not done the calculations, but it could very well be that cotton bale presses have a higher nation-wide murder rate than AR-15s. In fact, the murder rate in Georgia using cotton bale presses is absolutely horrible since 1990),
pipe wrenches,
bricks,
bridges,
tall buildings,
pools,
boats,
ice picks,
screwdrivers,
large dogs,
rattlesnakes (see cotton bale presses), ...

Gracious, there are lot of things we have to get rid of to be completely safe.

What an absurd take. Do you honestly think you are making a point?

And for the 347th time. Not a single person on here has ever once heard me advocate for the elimination of all guns.

They are more evolved across the pond. Over there they’ve moved onto discussing the inherent dangers of knives and hammers.

Do you realize how easy it is to get a hammer over there? It’s outrageous.
