Setting aside the opening salvo of hyperbole (nevermind it being in another country altogether) there is the curiosity with the mechanics involved. The only thing that article said referred to the weapon being "in his waistband" so one might assume something snagged the trigger. In any case it was exceedingly foolish to ignore the warnings of having any metals subject to strong magnetic forces on you in an MRI environment.
The dangers of foolishness is contagious, as today's society proves, almost on a daily basis of people being shot for no other reason than being alive. Or kids finding guns and killing a parent, sibling, or classmate by either accident or design. I have nothing against guns, I'm a gun owner myself, it's the fools with guns that should concern us all. And since practically anyone can get one, bless the anti-background checkers, the disease of foolishness will keep compounding.
I didn't ask you. And as far as your post goes, I didn't say stupidity is limited to firearms. Yet, one cannot truthfully, deny the nearly daily incidents of gun violence in Murica.
What an odd reply. I was actually agreeing with the sad state of stupid in the world. What you did or didn't "ask" needn't come into play nor did my reply place a limit on the scope of what you cited and obviously placed no limit on the scope of my observation.
To go one better on the last bit Murica has far too much violence period. In fact I'll say (and not for the first time) the myopic fascination with controlling inanimate objects has greatly undercut addressing why so many people are willing to harm others by whatever means. For example there are those out there that are so mushy of brain that they believe AR-15's are nigh demonically possessed instruments capable of killing through their own volition. Nevermind that (per FBI UCR) rifles of all types kill less people than literally no weapons at all (kicking/punching/etc) and considerably less than edged weapons. And then there's things like this:
NYC has freed more than 3K gun suspects in 2020 as shootings rise
I've lost almost total interest in the "It's the guns" argument at this point.
If you don't have a CC permit, the only way to legally carry a side arm in transport is either in it's box and put away, or if you can't do that, it must be visible, unloaded, and ammo in a separate location in the vehicle. Otherwise you are carrying concealed without a permit. There may be some variations of this state to state, but for most it's prob fairly accurate.Do you have any clarification on that? I'm not familiar with SC law but for open display of a firearm while traveling in your vehicle to actually be legally compulsory seems exceedingly odd.

Hawkinsville was a nice enough place until the textile mill closed. That and with the consolidation of farms it is pretty tough to make a living there. Mostly just a bedroom community to Robins AFB and Warner Robins proper. Actually grew up between Valdosta and Thomasville. Your step son lives around Hahira? Have a sister- and brother-in-law live there as well.Grew up in Griffin. Then 16 years in Hartwell before moving to TN. Even back in the 80's, anything from Forsyth down was rough even then. Macon never has been a place you can rest easy, that I can recall. Played alot of adult softball after my college days and we played roughly 8 months a year. Lot's of tournaments around Macon and Dublin. It was always suspect. But, probably just as suspect up at South Metro fields below Six Flags, and over at Softball Country Club off 285 in Decatur. Now that I think about, none of the softball complexes were ever in "nice safe areas." Hawkinsville may not have qualified as a rough area, but you're starting to get into BFE around there. My step son lives outside Valdosta now about 10 miles north of Moody. Forgot how spartan rural south GA was outside of the metros. Griffin has some history I'm sure, but not terrible. For the most part my time in HS and living there didn't seem to have too many major racial stresses. The police department there is dirty as crap, but they targeted my nephew probably more than any non-white town.

Georgia did not require a carry permit for a handgun in one's vehicle; it was considered an extension of your home. When I moved to Tennessee (2004), was kind of shocked at the odd gun laws. A CC was required to carry in one's vehicle. I cannot recall what year that changed, but IIRC, it was some years after I moved before a permit was not required for a gun in a vehicle.Years ago in GA when we owned handguns for fun/target I believe it was the same. and maybe still true if you don't have a permit. But, while driving we would have the pistol out on the seat or dash, clip removed and empty, and ammo behind the seats not readily reachable. And if for some stupid reason we got pulled over, we immediately let the officer know we had one, where it was, and that it was unloaded and ammo was separated, and then we waited on instruction before we moved. And we never had issues or got told that illegal.
You were literally responding and quoting his previous post. How would one possibly consider that you werent asking him, or engaging in conversation?I didn't ask you. I have the enhanced permit, so can pretty much carry wherever with a few exceptions. Wife has a regular permit, so she is restricted from some places I can carry.

What are you calling the enhanced permit for TN? I saw selections for CC and CC/OC. I completed the CC portion and did the online qualifying cause a full day hands on class is not readily accessible to me. And that's $100 for the permit verses $69 for just CC. And I'm not the type that's gonna run around with a firearm open on my hip. When I would feel the need to carry it would still be concealed regardless of my permit.
Tell me about it on that run. In-laws and kids live west of Thomasville and in Brooks County. By the way, if you have not tried it, go to Ray's Mill Pond if you like fish. Was down there back in December.Yeah. We get off in Hahira and go east about 10 miles. Technically he's in Lakeland, but about 5 miles west of town. You turn off at that intersection past the lone stop light/4-way stop out in the sticks where the gas station is. There's a series of 3 phases of subdivisions up that road on the right. It's no short trip from middle TN. Bout 7 hours with good runs thru Chatt & Atl.
When I went to Idaho, I checked which states honored my Georgia permit. Illinois was the only one that didn't, so I called the state police there to see what I needed to do. They told me not have it loaded, and separate the gum from the ammo. They also told me it'd be 8n my best interest to not stop anywhere there. If someone stole my gun and killed someone, or used it in a crime, that I'd be charged with that crime also. All that, yet their big city is a joke. That sounds about right. Pretty sure GA's old laws were really close to that. Just looking up laws for states you are travelling to caould save alot of hassle. 38 states are reciprical with TN on permits. But, out of state permits generally have a few more restrictions. Main reason to have a permit even if you don't have to have one in TN anymore, is to legally cross state lines.

Have fished in Banks Lake a long, long time ago. Ray's Mill Pond is a restaurant. Sorry I wasn't clear on that.Love to fish. There was a Banks Lake near their house that was a cool looking swamp lake. Had stilted cabins all along the road frontage on the lakes edge. Had to be a shoulder buster in there somewhere.
