Gun control debate (merged)

We get it.
It’s clear you prefer murder to be committed but blunt object.
It’s also clear you don’t care anything about the actual problem or it’s solutions

And what are the actual solutions? Freaking doors?

Solutions are: (1) liability insurance requirement (like with cars) (2) high tax (like with cigarettes), (3) age restrictions, (4) waiting periods, (5) stronger red flag laws, (6) bans on certain types of weapons, (7) grabbing guns, melting them down, and reshaping them into gay wedding cake ornaments.

Personally prefer (7), but would take some combo of (1)-(6).

(8) stop medicating children as a substitute for discipline
(9) teach firearm safety and familiarity in schools
(10) scoff at anyone suggesting 1-7

We have the most guns per capita by far and the most mass shootings by far. Is it really so hard to see?

And a very small minority of people with guns shoot other people. So why not leave the responsible people alone and figure out WTH is wrong with the people who do shoot others ... and how to fix it. Perhaps we had things mostly (at least more) right at one time and all the social programs and backtracking on acceptable behaviors that have come along undid it? You know the stuff that says "you are nutty as a fruitcake, but you're OK - we won't hold that against you."

Anyone else notice an uptick in media reporting on shootings?

Seems they’re attempting to report every time 1-2 people are shot so than add fuel to their democratic agenda

At the same time the media is telling any fool seeking his ten minutes of fame exactly what he needs to do. It's never been a secret that one deed getting intense publicity spawns copycats.

So, is it science to determine an 18 year old isn't mature enough to buy a firearm, but a 10 year old can determine their gender?

Or that an 18 year old too immature to own a firearm should be able to vote and help determine the direction of the country?

When you see that guy start talking about different barrel lengths and sights/mounts you know he's talking out his anus. Either he's a military guy that's shockingly ignorant of functional comparisons with civilian weapons or he's trying to get behind an agenda. You realize you can get lever actions with picatinny mounts for sights and accessories, right? So does that make it a "weapon of war"?

Do the same with voting. I know it’s hard for some to grasp but owning a firearm is a FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT. The intent wasn’t just to have one (or many) for hunting and self defense either. There are probably solutions to help (not that we don’t already have many in place) keep them out of the hands of criminals and nuts. Ignorant people making stupid lists, like yours, is not the solution.

Beat me to it , the difference between a civilian model and a military model is the ability to deliver as many rounds down range as possible accurately when needed , after that it’s just a money grab from manufacturers trying to get those contracts . There’s no such thing as a specific “ weapon of war “ with firearms , they all fall into that category if there’s a war . Along with knives , rocks , sticks , trucks , dirt , poison , anything you can use to achieve the objective at hand .

Assuming that whatever technical obstacle they are claiming actually exists, and assuming it could be overcome, what's wrong with technology that matches a bullet to a gun?

I would think that responsible gun owners would be all for it.

I think most gun owners see it as a foolish effort by ignorant people, that would depreciate the function of the gun while making it more expensive -- for no good purpose.

literally none of that is a solution. Just more BS regulations that will only serve to make the problem worsen.
it’s time to address the issues which isn’t the tool. Again you ignore the murders with everything except a firearm.

Their cult preaches more restrictions and regulations so being the loyal members they are they go forth and spread the message.

pro life until shot by someone who has lost touch with reality with a closet full of war weapons. Nobody is taking your guns away completely. Rational people are tired of watching irrational people point guns at Americans.
So you punish the rational?

Pro 2A doesnt mean "pro no consquences of your own actions with a gun". It means we dont want to be punished for a crime we didnt commit, you know the whole innocent until proven guilty thing.

Seriously. It’s absolute stupidity to talk about gun murders with talking about all murders.

Especially since congress felt the need recently to pass a law against lynching - you'd think there's a lot of that going on, but not hearing much about it in the news. And somehow I always had the impression that lynching would be covered under existing murder laws. There's still some of the old fashioned stuff - like where somebody sticks something or another in somebody else, too - that never seems to go out of style. Neither of those require a gun.
