Gun control debate (merged)

It is the gospel. You and yours don't understand logic. You can't comprehend logic. Every position you take is completely void of logic. I genuinely feel sorry for you.

Feeling is mutual. I would hate to live in a world where I was so scared of everything that I felt the need to carry a gun all the time. You are the same people who think all Mexicans are murderers and rapisits and that people who don't look like you are a threat. There's a lot of "bad hombres" out there so I better carry my gun to protect myself and everyone else. Lol.

I don't carry all the time. When I do I'm prepared to protect myself. I can tell you one thing, when I see someone open carry, I don't pee my pants like you. Haha.

If you ever encounter a situation where a bad guy is assaulting people and he gets to you and your kids and a good guy with a gun attempts to come to your rescue, make sure you let the good guy know he's not to help, he's to let the guy assault you and your kids. Make sure the good guy knows the cops will be along shortly.

You've got a deal. I don't want your redneck a*s anywhere near my kids in that situation. You are very likely to make the situation much worse.

You have to be a woman. Because there is no way a woman would marry and have kids with a man that is scared of his own shadow

How am I scared of my own shadow?
You are the one who feels the need to carry a gun everywhere because everyone else is so scary and bad. I'm actually the opposite of scared because I don't need to carry a gun to feel safe.

Lol, emotion over logic. Go ahead and kill my children to make a statement. I hope your kids overcome you.

I hope society overcomes you and your type. My kids aren't going to grow up in a world where everyone who does not look like them are dangerous and "bad hombres".

Yet you are scared of everyone who does and might, carry one? How is that significantly different?

I actually laughed at the guy. I guess you call the need to carry a gun to a strawberry patch a rational fear? Lmao.

Here's another troll take that's worth addressing not because it holds any actual merit but because it's the kind of observation common among hoplophobes so let's play with it a bit, even if only for the sake of conversation among the more enlightened.

Where someone is carrying at any given point is not necessarily indicative of any perceived threat at that time/location. There are many treatise on the matter but perhaps Jeff Cooper's white/yellow/orange/red threat awareness levels are the best known. This guy in the strawberry patch was probably just rolling along in level white but the ignorant would assume his being armed right then/right there would mean it's because he's afraid to pick strawberries unarmed. Where had this fellow been before showing up there? Where might he be going afterwards? Could any of those places have been more sketchy than where he was spotted for this anecdote? The truth is hoplophobes don't consider or care about this possibility.

Even having said the above the real issue is in judging where is supposed to be dangerous in the first place. Who the hell are you (and this is addressing anyone) to determine where and when armed defense might be necessary? Take this example from just this Friday.

Police: Redding man confronted by armed citizen at gas station after kidnapping woman

Dude that just happened to be at a Mini-Mart and rescued a kidnapped woman. How could he have ever guessed he'd need to be armed getting gas? He didn't...he just was. Ask yourself a question...how often does something bad happen when the people there are expecting it to happen? Wouldn't most people NOT be where they were actually expecting something bad to happen? Violence doesn't tend to happen at a time and place chosen by the victim. It'd be absolutely awesome to have some means of getting up in the morning and having your calendar read "You'll need your gun today. Good luck!" but I don't see that being likely in the near future.

Guns are tools, they serve a purpose for a lot of us in our daily lives. Perhaps you cannot understand or accept that. Here’s an example.

Found this ole boy waiting outside the gate of my house. This is where members of my family walk back and forth from their vehicles.
Again, guns are tools.

You're pathetic. Anyone that would sacrifice their kids because of your stupid, lazy, uniformed perceptions is unfit to be a parent. You're an embarrassment to good parents.

Here we have exhibit A in the case of why the media is bad for you, folks.

Actually, it's not the media. It's self inflicted ignorance. There are more than enough stories out there how firearms have helped and deterred dangerous situations, yet he only picks those that support his position instead of actually doing research on the subject. The whole stray bullet thing? Yeah, only half the story there since many of them (I perused the website and their "study") are very likely criminal acts already between rival gangs. Is it tragic? Yes, it certainly is.

Does that change the paradigm? Not in his eyes since if firearms were more controlled, those criminals wouldn't have them. That's pure ignorance and nothing more.

I applaud you and others for taking up the fight, but when one wants to remain ignorant, it's best to allow them to continue to wallow in that ignorance rather than wasting your time trying to fight it.
