Walgreens owns Rite Aide now.
I don’t have an issue with it . If I go into Walgreens carrying and they ask me to leave I’ll go to rite aide . I am curious why they didn’t include CVS aren’t they ran by the same people ?
Open carry appeals only to the show-offs and the wannabe cowboys. Life is not a 1960s Western. Get over yourselves.

I don’t open carry , but the great thing about an open carry state is the ones who want to can . I got over myself years ago . That comes with age for most . I don’t ask people why they open carry ( it’s non of my business ) so I can’t say who it only appeals to . Do you ask them or are you just one of those eye-rollers that mutter under your breath at others ?
I have never encountered a person open-carrying. My understanding in Florida is that the right to do so is extremely limited to particular situations.
If it were legal, and I did see someone doing so, my assumption is that they are either 1) a person with an ego problem who is not to be trusted; or 2) a backwards moron who is itching for a reason to use the gun to show what a tough guy he is. Likely some combination thereof.
I would roll my eyes at them, yes, and avoid any interaction with them. If at a restaurant or something similar, I would ask they they be removed, or else I would leave.
You may view that as elitist or whatever. And that's okay, I get that and do not disagree I would consider such a person far beneath me. But its also in that sense a question of safety. Given that such a person seems far more likely to me to cause problems and be dangerous, I'll rely on wanting to stay away from their foolishness as ample reason to avoid them.
At least you are honest . I prefer that in a person that way i know where you stand . The only problem I have with your assumptions are that they are out of fear and based on your perception of that person being backwards or untrustworthy . example ... you come in sit down at a restaurant and notice that you are sitting next to a table with a guy having a holstered firearm . You then assume the worst and ask the waiter to have the manager ask the man to leave only to find out he’s an off duty cop /detective . I do understand that doesn’t mean anything as far as being trustworthy they are like anybody and have good days and bad but it does go to your assumption that he far beneath you as I would assume he has had far more training than you have .

I immediately think something is wrong with them.I don’t open carry , but the great thing about an open carry state is the ones who want to can . I got over myself years ago . I am sure he does. God, I hope so!
(BTW, I cannot think of any law enforcement agency that would allow its members to open carry without uniform, badge, or other obvious insignia of their law enforcement status.)
But on to the bigger picture. What kind of person open carries for a reason other than to make some sort of public statement?
I immediately think something is wrong with them.
It reminds me of the time years ago when I was at a McDonald's playground with my daughters and there was this boy who looked to be about 9 or 10 running around the playground with a sheriff's badge and gun and holster. I was thinking, that would be cute if he was 3 or 4, but at his age it just looks like something is wrong with him.
so a 9 or 10 year old that wants to pretend to be an old west sheriff is a retard in your opinion?I immediately think something is wrong with them.

There was never a gun in my house growing up nor in my wife's house. Never really knew anyone with a gun(s). Never had any friends who were into hunting. Not a big thing in east Nashville.I explained why I feel the way I do in my post to LG but a question for you . Did you grow up with guns ( hunting and shooting ) in your family and just choose not to have them or did you not grow up with them . I ask because my ex in laws in the mid west had guns but wouldn’t keep them in the house they keep them in a corner in the meat house where they processed their meat . They ( father in law and brother in laws ) would hunt but kept them away from the house . So I’ve talked to all kinds of people with different views on guns .
