Gun control debate (merged)

A few may be like that, but not all. It's not fear that drives a person, just preparation. They may carry for the same reason one might own a fire extinguisher. I don't expect my house to burn down, but if there's a fire I can do something to try to stop it. The FD may respond, but what can I do to prevent it from spreading in the few minutes before their arrival?

Gun haters love to paint gun owners as jumpy people that are scared of everything and would draw on anyone that speaks to them. That stereotype they try to push is part of why 2nd Amendment advocates have little belief there is any honesty in the "common sense gun laws" debate.

The true fear is from the gun haters. If someone has that much fear of an object, they shouldn't own one. But their fear is so strong they want gun ownership outlawed.

It's cute the way you dodge one stereotype while painting another.

I agree. Twice I've gotten involved in a situation where a guy was hitting, or about to hit a woman. Neither time did drawing my gun even cross my mind. That contradicts everything a liberal believes about those who carry.

I thought about drawing my gun once during a domestic situation but I was to drunk, figured I would start swerving and miss my target. Wife got lucky that day.... :)

Evergreen man surrenders to face federal firearms, tax fraud charges - The Denver Post

An Evergreen man with a history in reality television surrendered to authorities on Thursday on federal criminal charges of illegally selling firearms and failing to report more than $1.1 million in in income to the Internal Revenue Service.

Richard Wyatt, 52, operated the Wheat Ridge gun store Gunsmoke, but surrendered his federal firearms license for that store in 2012 due to violations of federal laws and regulations, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office in Denver.

Wyatt appeared on the reality television series "American Guns" on the Discovery Channel from 2011 through 2012, prior to surrendering his license.

Honestly, the guy was a dick in person so I can't say I'm shedding any tears over this.

That article is an absolute load of horse dung and an insult to intelligent women, especially those that carry. Smdh

Been reading along here and just have to say to the posters all stressed out about folks carrying... Dude, chill your own personal paranoia and stop projecting it on those that legally carry. If you live in a legal carry state, we're the guy next to you waiting to order a burger or the lady with her grandkids in the store checkout line... 'Hi sugar, bless your little heart'. I only ask that you please remember this, if the isht ever hits the fan in that diner or store you need to just duck and cover because we'll be protecting those we love with our Constitutional Right To Bear Arms when we get a clear sight line. Until then, don't slow the line down, I've got errands to run.

Bravo.

Please feel free to stop lurking and post more.

Thanks GV, appreciate it :) the redundancy of the paranoid histrionics I've read here brought me out of the lurker mode I've been in since most of my post count went bye-bye with the deletion of a certain coaching thread. Lol.

I've shot for several decades and in all my years, I've yet to have a single firearm jump out of a holster or go on a walk-a-bout and just willy-nilly start shooting a joint up. Yet the grabbers seem bound and determined to cling to that very scenario, among others equally as asinine. Just boggles the mind somewhat that they actually believe it but can't comprehend that we legally carry according to the law because we know there's a segment of society that doesn't adhere to the law.

Seeing some news blurbs that our friends over the pond are buying firearms on an unprecedented level since they've been having some problems on the homefront. Yay Europe!

not quite.... But I can say I'm not afraid of guns. People don't own guns or carry them out of fear. Your parents really screwed up when they allowed you to join the Brownies instead of the Scouts.

Not sure what that last part has to do with anything though I was actually in the Scouts growing up. I love getting you right-wingers stirred up. You are so used to getting on these types of forums and regurgitating all the crap you hear on FoxNews and having all the sheep agree with you. You don't know what to do when someone doesn't.

I'm afraid I don't know what to do right now

You don't post in the politics forum enough to make these Bush and Fox News accusations. If you look around you'll see that there aren't any real Bush fans or Fox News lovers.
You don't understand. Liberals think that we are too stupid to have a thought of our own, and just regurgitate what we have heard elsewhere. If it is a conservative viewpoint, it must have come from Fox.

I don't like Fox News because of Rupert Murdoch's involvement with the People for a New American Economy. They are not true conservatives. They are establishment middle of the road Republicans with a few liberals thrown in as boogie men.
