Gun control debate (merged)

Yep, see how that higher restriction on firearms leads to lower crime?

8 children killed in northern Australian city | Fox News

Eight dead children and a woman suffering from serious stab wounds were found inside a northern Australian home Friday, police say.

Queensland state police were called to to the home in the Cairns suburb of Manoora Friday after receiving a report of a woman with serious injuries. When police entered the house, they found the bodies of the children, ranging in age from 18 months to 15 years.

And apparently since I like firearms there's something wrong with me.

Not sure what though. I'm waiting for an explanation.

I'm still waiting on one of the resident liberal whiners to explain something as simple as exactly who is being kept from voting by ID Laws. That is way more simple (one would think since it is spouted as fact on a regular basis) than a liberal trying to talk about the validity of an antigun lawsuit.

someone, it may have been TrUT, once said that even if the ID is provided free, the expense and time needed to acquire a free ID for the purpose of voting constituted a poll tax

Is the Second Coming on it's way? Did common sense actually break out for a change?

New York high school senior prevails in fight to pose with gun in yearbook photo | Fox News

An upstate New York school district has shot down a high school that said no to a senior’s yearbook photo because it shows her posing with a gun.

Rebekah Rorick submitted the picture for inclusion in the 2015 Broadalbin-Perth High School yearbook only to have it rejected by a faculty member on the yearbook committee due to the weapon.

“And I was like, ‘Why?’ And they are like, ‘Because there’s a gun in it,’ And I’m like, ‘But it’s a hunting rifle. I’m wearing camo. I have my dog with me,’” Rorick told WTEN-TV. “I was ready to cry. I didn’t know what I was going to do. The only thing I thought to do was address it.”

The photo shows a smiling Rebekah in a classic hunting pose. She is kneeling next to her dog as she holds a hunting rifle upright in her left hand.

Accompanied by her father, Rorick appeared before the school board Monday evening to appeal the rejection.

“We are in the foothills of the Adirondacks,” Michael Rorick told the school board, according to the Gloversville Leader Herald.

He and his daughter also pointed out that a senior’s photo in the 2012 yearbook showed him with a rifle.

After meeting behind closed doors, the school board ruled Rebekah’s photo appropriate for the yearbook.

“There wasn’t any reason not to (allow it),” president Robert Becker told the newspaper. He said he understood the school’s initial reaction to the photo, saying it was due to what he called “heightened sensitivity” to firearms in schools.

Superintendent Stephen Tomlinson told WTEN the photo does not violate the district’s policy against weapons.

“She is not holding the gun in a malicious manner,” he said. “She is not pointing it anywhere. It’s to me, in my opinion, a nice photograph of a young lady in the Adirondack region that enjoys hunting.”

The Mom should have had her own gun so she could have quickly pulled it out and shot and killed her son before he could shoot her.

But I really can't complain about this. She was surely in the Idaho militia.

On the upside, this young man will have one heckuva story when he's a little older and has parent-teacher meetings.

So yay guns.

Real funny...,.

I like stories with a happy ending. We had a pastor critically wound his maintenance worker today in a shoot out here in Orlando . It seems the maintenance worker didn't want to be fired and he pulled a gun out on the pastor, the pastor returned the favor by shooting the guy and putting him in intensive care.. Lmao sorry I'm on mobile and can't link the story..

I linked it earlier in the day. I thought it remarkable that a church pastor was packing.

Nice to see other firearms companies taking a stand. Likely will only be symbolic, but it's a start:

Company That Provided Guns for ‘Taken 3′ Does More Than Talk After Reading Liam Neeson’s Fiery Anti-Gun Rant | TheBlaze.com

PARA USA, the firearms company that provided guns for use in the movie “Taken 3,” is cutting all ties with the film’s star, Liam Neeson, after he made a number of fiery anti-gun comments in a recent interview.

Not only did PARA USA say that the company “regrets its decision to provide firearms for use in the film,” the gun manufacturer vowed to never again provide firearms for any future films starring Neeson.
