Gun control debate (merged)

I admit almost complete ignorance on the subject of guns, not on the subject of gun control - which just so happens to be what this thread is actually about.

It would take a simple mind to confuse the two.
Are there other areas of life you know absolutely nothing about, but feel qualified to propose laws and regulations?

To the rest of the board: if you’re going to troll, here is a pretty good blueprint for it. 1) be completely ignorant on the underlying subject, 2) argue for controls of said subject.

Assuming that Luth is not a plumber or truck driver or farmer, we should ask him for reasonable and rational plumbing codes, trucking regulations and wetlands laws.

SMH.

I don't live in fear like so many of you apparently do. I'm going to ATL Sunday to visit one daughter and Manhattan next weekend to visit the other.
Should I carry a gun in both socks and another in my waistband, or should two do the trick?
Do whatever suits your risk assessment. I sincerely hope you are never a victim of a violent crime. Probability says you will not be.

I have to say I do not understand why you think we live in fear. Few conservatives I know live in fear. I certainly do not. You are conflating situational awareness with fear, probably intentional on your part. You’re nothing more than a troll.

Agreed. I feel like an apology is in order for his ridiculousness. This would be a good start Luth

I think we should outlaw homosexuality. The suicide rate is much higher in that group. If it saves just one life.

Yes and Yes. The only question is why would you wait until you’re traveling? That’s how I try to roll to the grocery store in Johnson City.

Since everyone is piling on about Luther's attempt to save lives, I wonder what his stance is on the border policy allowing Fentanyl to pour into the U.S.

There are now around 80,000 deaths/yr in the U.S. from Fentanyl overdose. Anyone have stats on AR kills/yr?

You’re talking about someone who couldn’t actually identify an AR off of a table of other firearms. Doubt he has put too much thought into fentanyl since it’s not a mainstream talking point.

That side of town gets a little sketchy sometimes with Plymouth Rd and all. I used to shop there when I lived on the tree streets…… and may have regularly bought beer underage at the abandoned Kroger up the street behind Arbys.
Lived up there for 4 years. Wife was at the med school at ETSU. Didn’t think I would miss it much but I do.
Free golf after 6pm at Pine Oaks.
Smokehouse BBQ sweet heat sauce.
Ole Guacamoles table side guac.
Hardly ever any traffic.

Not a bad place to live.

I ate Ole Guac yesterday. Hit way too many balls onto University Parkway off the 4th at Pine Oaks. We have a pretty amazing new BBQ restaurant called Southern Craft if you come back to visit. Its about the corner of South Roan and S of Franklin.

You are thinking of 5.

4 is the par 4 with the uphill approach shot. But yes!! I’ve lost a bunch of balls on 5!
Got an Eagle on that hole once. No one was around to see it. Of course! Also miss playing Graysburg Hills in Chuckey. Hard to beat that course for the $$.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane brother, I’ll check it out next time I drive up. Go Vols!!

< 400 annually. Actually I think ALL rifles are that, so ARs are a subset.

The problem is the troll is not really interested in saving lives
