Yes, Fla. lost some games, but so did Arky.

In the past QBs have been much more accountable for the big games that they didn't win....see Peyton as an example. Runningbacks are not always tied to that standard.

McFadden was the best player last year and the year before. Last year, because OSU went undefeated, Troy Smith got the nod. By that scale, Colt Brennan should have won the trophy. The fact that Tebow won as a QB with three losses is without any real precedent (so far as I can tell).

The precedent that followed was Tebow had the proper "endorsements".

i look at this way.......Tebow did what he did in an unconvential method from what we've see from qb's in the past. it's different. it's attention getting.

Everyone's seen RB's put up big numbers. Everyone's seen QB's throw for big yards and 30+ td's.

not everyone's seen a guy throw for 250 a game, run for 100 a game, or thereabouts, and total 50+ TD's running and passing. and they've defintely not seen it in the SEC.

plus it's FL. the marquee team in the league. they have the spotlight now, even in a year where they didn't play for the title.

even in the 3 losses they had no one ever came out of watching FL play and lose saying they sucked.

in the present day, FL has put themselves on the same shelf as Mich, OSU, USC etc...as it relates to star power and attention. they have had the coaches, seasons, players and games over the last 15 years or so to warrant the media attention they get. And Tebow is a polarizing character for fans.

in my view of hte heisman being a beauty pagent at best, he and FL meet all the requirements.

I agree there is little precedent for what Tebow did last year. In that sense it was a reasonable decision by the voters. Still can't shake the three losses.

Lex..the difference is Tebow did enough to win those games...the D was the common denominator.

well when Superman is the qb, it can't be his fault can it?

Precedent says that really doesn't matter. IMO he did not do enough in any of those three games. Especially the Auburn game.

it also says Sophmores don't win the trophy. it also says D1aa teams don't beat Mich at Mich. it also says USC steamrolls Stanford. It also says that a 2 loss team won't play in a national title game.....anyway, i think you know where i'm going with this.....

not trying to rip apart your post, but this has just been one of those years, and everything you thought you knew about CFB has been thrown out the window this season, including the Heisman.

i'll just keep saying it, the heisman is a beauty contest and tebow and FL meet the requirements. it hasn't been about the "best player in CFB" for a long time.

Tebow had better players surrounding him and was not supposed to lose so many games. Florida would probably have the same record without Tebow. Arkansas did well with the talent they had. However, their record would be much worse without McFadden who carried the team at times this season.
