I have a tendency to agree with a few fans regarding King's article that peddling is a good description.

Only problem, the Fan Base will never give CDT the benefit of the doubt and it will be a continuous cycle of pointing out deficiencies in regards to team chemistry, on court playing, and coaching decisions.

Add to the fact that this team was projected in the bottom tier of the SEC, however fan expectations was not. This team has been sold with the new additions since Tyndall and Staff arrived.

Now what. The AD and administrators didn't properly vet? Somebody covered up or told a big whopping lie? Sour Grapes? All questions that will be discussed and answered during the season and as long as CDT is here.

There is no rally point for this coach and staff because there is not a season in the bank and if he and staff did something phenomenal this season this investigation will loom and fans will still be talking about CCM's departure, Pearl's shunning, recruiting and now a player or two lost from the team (Thompson). All the blame on Tyndall.

The Pearl thing will be always questioned as the what if.

What's so funny, without any knowledge of Tyndall's innocent or guilt some fans are stating to fire him and hire an interim Coach.

I can only hope that this is a Southern Mississippi issue and none of this bleeds into our program, but who are we kidding, CDT's innocent or guilt will not matter because it already has in the fan base, the media, and potentially the NCAA.

What a mess, some of you will beat your chest and claim you know how this will go down and the what ifs of CCM or CBP or old recruits or CDT. Bottom line is the Drama and hardheadedness of your actions.

Regardless of the results, guilty or innocent, its going to be a long season and fans are going to be split for a while regarding the state of Volunteer Basketball.

So argue away.

One other thing...Somebody stated that we could lose Scholarships as the result of Tyndall's actions at USM. No way and there is no precedent for that, is there. UTK will not be punished for actions Tyndall committed at Southern Miss with the exception of maybe a suspension.

I will continue to support Coach Tyndall as innocent until the NCAA proves he is not. A lot of people can start an investigation of a program so we'll see where it leads. Evidently Coach Tyndall is claiming not guilty or he would have resigned and moved on. If he knows that boosters paid players student loans then he also knows that will be easy to prove so I conclude he is not guilty and has been falsely accused for other reasons only known to who is making the accusations.

Good point and I agree.

I just hate the undercurrent caused by our own fan base. It was going to be a long season already, but this will make it drag out as long as an investigation looms.

Paralysis of Analysis.

I am not sure of whether he is guilty or not. The real issue is did a booster pay for the kids school or did they take a loan. If they took a loan and it was paid after they graduated, then there is no issue. If they didn't take a loan and booster paid for school, then big trouble.

I can't believe anyone would be that dumb to leave a trail where kids got in school and were paid for by someone else. I am guessing they investigate and it takes 8 months or so and nothing major comes of it. Sadly it really will screw UT recruiting.

If something comes of it, we can start our favorite offseason topic again about who's the next coach.

I am officially saying now that Gruden will be our Bball coach in 2016.

good post OP. I think the attitude that he's definitely innocent 100% is naïve, and I think those trashing him already are flat out losers, regardless if he ends up being guilty or not.

You wait and see what comes out. That's why we have brains to help us think properly.

I agree. CDT may not get a fair shake here regardless of the outcome.

What bothers me is that reporters can do this without due diligence based upon hearsay.

Furthermore, the NCAA is not adequately equipped, trained, resourced or manned to verify or validate the information within a reasonable time frame or accuracy.

There is no way that we could lose any scholarships or suffer any penalty at this stage. Tyndall has not coached a real game at Tennessee yet.

I fully expect Hart to suspend Tyndall, until an investigation is completed-ONLY if the NCA comes a calling

The players get 100%, Josh, Armani, Lopez, Hubbs and I know I'm missing someone or two, they get 120% for staying on...the coach, he gonna have to earn it.

I don't think the fan base will be split on this. A general disinterest is more likely. It will take 8 months for the NCAA to get anywhere but much quicker by the media, and this will be trial by media first. If it looks bad for him fans will lose interest quickly. No one will continue to buy defective products even if colored orange.

Look at the results of what has happened in the Media and on this board which represents this a fairly decent opinion of the fan base.

1. Poll: Fire Tyndall or Not
2. We ran CCM off? Old news, OBTW CCM left.
3. Hart is incompetent and Tyndall not properly Vetted.
4. Clarke's decommitment because of this. More than likely BS.
5. Thompson's departure regarding Tyndall running him off. This news is history.
6. Should have hired Pearl since Tyndall is the same, mentality.
7. We have now started talking the football hires and departures in the basketball threads. (Dooley, Sal, Wilcox) What does this prove?
8. We are going to possibly lose scholarships and a post season ban as the result of us hiring Tyndall and Staff. This is BS and a sky is falling mentality.
9. The list in this forum goes on and on creating drama and more drama.

We will lose a game or two and the knee jerk reaction is going to be to start a coach search thread, a fire Tyndall site, or even a BBB site and/or petition.

Vicious cycle we live in here on Volnation and for our fan base. All of this possibly because of the result of maybe an irresponsible reporter, a sour grape fan or coach, an incompetent system that does not catch this as it happens and operates based on opinions versus facts years after the event happens with little due process with prejudice.

The fact that any corespondent can make accusations without providing any evidence to back it up nor be compelled to do so and not be held accountable for it if proven to be false is what we have.

I didn't say that we would lose scholarships, it was in a couple of other threads that we would. This was just several posters stirring the pot for their own agendas and drama.

Trolls immigrate to VolNation all the time during these type events. However, some stating these things were regular posters.

Hart should not suspend Tyndall, for any reason unless they talk and Tyndall admits to any wrongdoing.

The media is full of "reporters" lying or exaggerating to get attention. They win Pulitzer prizes when they make things up, they stage stories like the sham car explosions and fake meat poisoning to destroy companies and employees to push their PC agendas. I don't know if this story is honest or not, but the odds are there is a lot of smoke to promote the "reporter's" agenda.

Hell, if Tyndall did commit violations they don't rise to the level of the violators at penn st. and fsu. As usual the aa swats a gnat and attempts to swallow an elephant.

Most defendants are found guilty when tried in the court of public opinion.  :jpshakehead:

Thanks for starting the split OP.

Evidently You missed my point. There will always be disgruntled fans...regarding the play, the coaches and the changes. Winning does cure everything.

This could be a self inflicted wound compounded by the other aspects of our program.

or

It could be nothing except for sour grapes which was fueled by an attention getting reporter with a bunch of assumptions and innuendos.

Regardless, it all falls in the hands of the Incompetent and Bias NCAA investigation scenario of which our program could suffer some fallout or collateral Damage from the So. Miss investigation...

Wait... you mean we are actually supposed to let things play out and not jump to conclusions and publicly condemn someone that may OR may not be guilty of anything??? That's just crazy talk!!!! ;)
