Guards everywhere

See how little you really know and then call someone stupid, senile ole fart, Betty White clone, when they are so much smarter than you. Galen is a shooting guard. I think the real thing is with your 40000 posts you just love to hog the forum claiming to know it all. I have about 40 years experience on you and have dealt with all kinds of young men who had to be shown they didn't know it all.

I wouldn't talk about experience when trying to prove to everyone why Lopez will get minutes, it makes you look like you belong in a nut house.

Let everyone just assume you're off your meds and brain isn't functioning properly, it's a much better look.

Let me just expose who is the stupid one. First off, Brandon didn't get playing time because your hero, Cuonzo, was the coach. Sort of like the 1-3-1. No team could score on it easily but he didn't use it. Held Florida scoreless from nine minutes to two minutes in their last game and went back to man-to-layup and lost. So here is what you are saying. Tennessee does not need a point guard who would distribute the ball instead of shoot, shot 62% from the field, shot 81% from the ftl, averaged 14 because he dished to Chisum for 30, led his team to a championship in the Rocky Top League which all of last years players played in, has no problems with grades, no problems with character, etc. If anybody can run a run and gun offense, this guy can. He is the perfect point guard and is smart like Dobbs. What do you think Coach T is holding open a scholarship for, Christmas?

Have you ever attended a RTL game?

Lopez would be a better wrassler than a ball player IMO...he can throw a great filty stankin stunner

SD, your campaign for Lopez is noble, but he isn't the answer to our PG problems. He shouldn't even be part of the answer. He's a walk-on. A guy available to use in the most dire situation when all other options have been exhausted. Pointing to meaningless summer league stats is just that, meaningless.

Which games were these?

And please don't say RTL games...

As I recall he started against Arkansas his soph year although I didn't think he played that well. I do remember him playing meaningful minutes in the Florida game in Knoxville 2 years ago and had a couple of buckets and a couple of big assists in that game. All I am saying is he can play in a game and if someone is in foul trouble he could give you a few minutes at PG. I never said he was the answer to Vols' PG issues. He might be as good of an option as Chiles in CDTs system just don't know (probably a stretch on that).

He played 3 minutes, had 1 basket and 1 assist in the Florida game 2 years ago.

If he knows anything about basketball, he'll get some guys taller than 6'3. But, then again we don't know what we're getting here. I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of trouble makers on the team going forward. Something that we didn't have with the last guy and something we had with Brucie wucie.

Worth reading your usual drivel just to get the "Brucie wucie" gem. :clapping:

Right like I said he can play in a game in an emergency situation and possibly give you a basket or 2 and an assist. You proved my point there. Thanks!

Uhm actually what you said was "meaningful minutes....a couple of buckets....and a couple of big assists in that game."

He played 3 minutes...that's not meaningful minutes by most peoples definition.

Had 1 basket...most wouldn't consider that a couple.

Had 1 assist...not sure how 1 assist could be a couple big assists.

Not exactly sure how that proves your point? Lulz

let jrich run some point. Who cares really. Sending a pick to him anyway, so why not just get it to him over midcourt, send a couple of picks and see what happens. Kid can penetrate with either hand and should be more physical than other pgs as well as taller and a sr.
We need a pure pg, but I'm not as worried about it as others. Instead of only having one or two players that can break someone down off the dribble with the shot clock going down, we'll have 4 and the option to use the big men to just set pick after pick for them and everybody else spread out, then crash.
And we don't need a pg to break the press. This team will know how to break a press and has plenty of ballhandlers now.

said this same thing to another buddy last night. as long as we are efficient on press break, who cares who is bringing the ball up really?
