JG is very talented. JG is both suffering and benefitting from hyper conservative game plans designed to prevent him from losing games... which also prevents him from winning games. The limit of any and all Vol QB's is more a function of Butch Jones and his system than their talent. Playing in a "good" SEC system... JG would have twice the yardage at least, several TD's, and an INT or two. UT would have scored more points and would have won the USCe and UK games.

27 for 36 (75%) for 344 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT. QBR 155.27
I see him as doing nothing but getting better as time goes on.
Did you finally pull your head out of there long enough to get a breath of air?
I have never been against JG. I have said NUMEROUS times that he's a talented guy who simply wasn't ready to play.
I am against the MORONS who a) judge the two guys with bias and b) trash Dormady for really no reason other than protecting their ego which they attached to JG.
I have stated DOZENS of times that I think both guys have talent and that both suffer from playing for Jones in his ridiculous "system" with a supporting cast that Jones FAILED to recruit and develop well.
The QB's get too much blame. The problems with this O aren't... and have not been... the QB position. They start with Jones... he is about 90% of what's wrong.
You have said many times that JG is a talented dude only to turn around and say that he is only succeeding because of a hyperconservative Offense.
You can't make a compliment and follow it with a excuse as to why!
You have3 been pro-Dormady from the beginning and your colors have shown through. Dormady is a below average QB who has peaked, JG is a good young QBG with a high ceiling. Get over yourself!

We have a starting qb that has never thrown a td pass, correct?
No. Threw one earlier this year to Jeff George vs Indy State.
JG hasnt shown to be a world beater right out of the gates, certainly has things to work and get much better at, primarily his decision-making, his presence in the pocket, etc.
However, the kid has a strong, accurate arm, is tough as nails, has shown good leadership imo and has shown good, steady improvement with more playing time.....he looked sharp vs So Miss before the injury and I thought he had a very good all around game vs Ky.
He aint Dobbs running and he aint Peyton from the pocket, but I think this kid can be a very good SEC QB if he continues to progress like he has the last 2-3 weeks....and I did not have that opinion a few weeks ago.
Your Context is dilluted with bias!
He did throw a TD pass, but not one that really matters.
JG has a long way to go to catch up to other top young QBs in the league but it is nice to know hes done this with the worst offensive coordinator to ever wear headsets, Larry Scott.
Imagine a team with Sal Senseri as DC and Larry Scott as OC?
Both qbs have been mostly awful. I believe both will continue to be unless a change is made in leadership. I don't think Jones is capable of making a qb better. I really think both would be far more successful elsewhere. Just like every other qb that has left The Ole Ball Clown.
Normally I would agree. But, when you realize that UMass had the dang ball and a 1st down on our side of the field, one score away from redeeming their winless record and hard fought loss to Coastal Carolina ... then you see that it really did matter.
Lord, did what I just write really happen?hmy:
