Highly doubt this is in relation to Gruden, but Houston Kress just tweeted this "There have also been rumors of a potentially big story coming to light.
Thats truly about all Ive got on it at this point." Went on to say he was told it may involve Butch and that he'd know it when he sees it. Anyone know what he's referring to??

Caller: I got a text from a buddy of mine that's got a lot of connections in Knoxville, and he said he talked to somebody pretty important yesterday. And the word is, that Tennessee is now going to break the bank for a coach. And the first call is gonna be to Jon Gruden.
Finebaum: Well David, if I hadn't been in Knoxville last week I would have laughed at you. But I talked to... someone, let me put it that way. Someone that I have a lot of trust in and I believe is connected deeply in that program. And he told me the same thing. He said, if we lose this game, and something happens to Butch Jones, our first call would be to Jon Gruden.
Finebaum: The thing about Jon Gruden though, he's been out of it a while. I think he still loves the game. I've relayed a couple of stories lately about him. People say, 'why would he give up Monday Night Football.' Well, he's been doing it what - seven or eight years? He's making a lot of money, but coaches like to coach. Sitting in a booth, talking about other players... he's a young guy. If he doesn't coach now, he's never going to coach. That's what I think.
.Now up as an article on Saturday Down South:
Grumors never die: Paul Finebaum has been told Jon Gruden will be Tennessee's top target
I'm very surprised that Finebaum would put this on the air. We can debate whether he is an idiot or not, but he needs to maintain at least some factual credibility to do his show.
So, if UT hires somebody other than Gruden (which is the most likely outcome), Finebaum looks like a (bigger) schmuck.
Please, just, stop.
He has said he would not coach in college. He has not coached for as long as Fulmer hasn't. He has not had a coaching position in college since 1991.
