Tampa Bay gave up the kitchen sink (draft picks) to get Gruden, and that hurts them. Their GM should have gotten him a marquee QB, like Atlanta did with Matt Ryan, and he'd still be coaching there. Just look at Atlanta. They sucked bad, and immediately turned it around once they got their QB.Gruden won with Dungy players then began to lose and was fired! much like what Gene Chizik is doing now
the draft picks he got traded for helped Tampa win the Super Bowl by getting Gruden, but hurt them in the long run...he did it in 1 yr,Dungy didnt do it in 7...
not his fault they didn't draft well and let key players go,and Tampa went on the cheap
and spent less money than any team for a 5 year stretch...
its called google, you should try it before spouting off about things
you know nothing about or don't comprehend...
People who post this stuff...
Have you ever looked at the offense that he inherited at TB?
Yes, the defense was stacked, but he won a super bowl with
Brad Johnson
Mike Alstott/Michael Pittman (neither of which managed more than 800 yards)
Keenan McCardell at the end of his career.
Washed up Keyshawn Johnson.
Sorry I'm not sorry, but people who think Dungy left him a stacked team are dumb dumb dumb.
yet he boat raced everyone in the playoffs and the Super Bowl...
Dungy didnt...
and with the D being so good, maybe the Glazers should have gotten off their wallet
and got him some playmakers on offense...Monte does deserve credit for that D,but so did Marvin Lewis for the Ravens,Buddy ryan for the Bears,Al Saunders for the Rams,etc...oh yeah, how have the Bucs done since Gruden left with a 9-7 record?
I know you are a Bucs fan,but don't understand the hatred of Gruden,
the only coach to bring a title to Tampa...
