Well, last week I posted about how their lack of mental fortitude cost them a chance @ being in that thing. I stand here proud that they corrected the issue this week. Did they look amazing? No. Did they kill UF? No. But did they fold when they couldve? NO. I don't need to go on a long rant to show why that's so important. Many of you (coaches and former players of any sport) understand that already. Our boys stayed with the task @ hand, for the most part, and they gave themselves a chance to try and win the thing. We simply couldn't execute to a level that would get a W. Guess what? We knew that in the summer. Its nothing new. We know where we are with depth and experience. They've shown that they CAN weather the storm of a game, and @ the very least: continue giving max effort. The next step of the process is learning to win.
I was very impressed with the way they addressed the effort issue so quickly. I believe they saw 2 things : 1) it gives you a CHANCE to win
2) Finishing the way we did w/ UF is FAR more admirable than the manor in which we finished the UO game.
I believe they are moving in the right direction and DD/Staff's ability to get results in a area like effort,in such short time is a positive. Here's to hoping they can learn step #2 just as quickly.
