Greg McElroy on SEC Now: Alvin Kamara = best player on Tennessee....Cam Sutton is #2

Barnett is not that gifted physically. In the NFL he'll be undersized and slow for his position.

Kamara and Sutton on the other hand are elite athletically.

I always go with the better athletes when it comes to projecting to the NFL. The likelihood guys like Barnett (high effort guys who aren't the most gifted athletically) become stars is low.

I have no words... Have you even watched the NFL recently? It's #9 and it's not even close. Also, have you failed to watch DB run down RB's and WR's and make plays this year?

NFL ceiling not as high as those 2. Barnett has definitely been our best performer this year. But he isn't our best player. That distinction goes to Cam Sutton or Alvin Kamara.

Sorry cant agree. Sutton is way way overrated. I like the kid but hes not even close to the elite db in the sec

Best player
Kamara
2nd - Barnett
3rd - trevor daniel

We shall see who makes in nfl. Those 3 will. Sutton will be a bust in the NFL
Now everybody blast me.

production wise, there's no debating that this year, Barnett has been "that guy", and is by far, the best player on team 120.

then you could throw Kamara, Jennings, Dobbs, in the mix behind him.

but if you're talking NFL prospects, Barnett and Kamara are 1 and 2. Sutton is 3rd on the list.

This proves Greg knows nothing about defense. Barnett is hands down our best player. He single handily kept us in the Florida game, made THE PLAY to win the Georgia game if chaos didn't ensue after that, and outplayed Myles Garrett on his home turf, not to mention he added another 3 sacks against South Carolina. He's an absolute stud. Cam would be 2 because teams rarely throw his direction and he is a dangerous return man and Kamara would be 3, although I feel Kamara could have a higher ceiling than Cam because he is an all-purpose machine. They should all have long productive careers in the NFL. Cam and Kamara should be 2A and 2B.

Anyone else see this on SEC Now last night? Greg McElroy and Marcus Spears were kinda fooling around during a segment and McElroy let it slip that he likes Alvin Kamara's NFL potential as much Leonard Fournette. He said he would go in the 2nd-3rd round but someone would be getting a major steal. Really gushed about him being a beast at the next level. He also said that Cam Sutton is the second best player on the team after Kamara.

Can't say I disagree. I love the NFL potential of both guys. Alvin really took his game to the next level this year. Transformed his body to be more explosive than he was last year. And he really showed the nation what he could do in that game against A&M. I've already been on the record saying he'll be a pro-bowl RB in the NFL. His ceiling is Marshall Faulk-esque.

And obviously Cam will be a star in the NFL. The guy just exudes NFL All-Pro. Hopefully he comes back strong in a few weeks, kills at the Senior Bowl and combine, and goes in the first round like he deserves.

Pump the brakes op. Kamara is the 3rd leading rusher on our team with a total of 313 rushing yards. He does have 260 passing yards, but one outstanding game vs TAMU doesn't make him Marshall Faulk or a NFL All Pro. You throw those accolades around way too loose my friend. Let's start by hoping he gets drafted by a great offensive minded coach at the next level that will use his skills appropriately. Also, we need to hope he can stay healthy at the next level as well.

Guys you should really listen to D4H. It knows what it's talking about when projecting college players to the NFL. Kelvin Taylor has proven he was the greatest RB prospect last year.

So the top graded DE in all of college football and a likely top 10, if not top 5, pick in the draft has a low likelihood to be a star in the NFL? That's just ridiculous.

Alvin will be a good running back in the NFL, too talented not to be. And Cam will do his thing as well. But there is a reason why Derek is a top pick in this draft.

You do realize the Georgia game was the first game this season he got more than 10 touches right? These coaches had made him the most underutilized player in NCAA up until the A&M game. He should have been getting that amount of touches the entire season. It's a disgrace not to use your best weapon on offense. He can score a touchdown on any given play. You must have just looked at his stats and not watched any games this year because he has proven to be our best option on offense.

If we were sitting here with one loss, y'all do realize Barnett would be a top contender for Heisman after Lamar Jackson of course? That's how dominate he's been.

Not sure that means the loser of the SECCG gets the nod as the second best team in the SEC. That will likely go to the second best team in the west, imo.

Yes they would probably choose LSU or Auburn. Probably would pick A&M ahead us. They didn't pick us in 2001 or 2007 when we lost so why would they do it this year?

The #2 SEC team will likely be in either the Sugar or Orange Bowl, based on conference bids.

The number 2 team is defined by the polls not the loser of the SECCG. So were the Vols to win out, win the East and lose to Bama then most likely both Auburn and A&M would be ahead of them in the polls and would take those NY6 slots. The only way Tennessee gets to a NY6 bowl game is to win the SEC, which means beating Alabama. Most likely scenario is Citrus or Outback.

Barnett is the best player. Sutton maybe would have been if not for injury.
