So you support attacking an ally and ending NATO... potentially starting a war with the likes of Denmark, France, England, Italy, Spain, etc.

You willing to send your kids / grandkids in harms way to invade Greenland?

You good with them killing Greenland residents in the name of expanding the United States?

Good with them potentially dying in the same name?

And tell me how you rationalize this in your head... did you support Trump's policy when he was campaigning and swore he would never start any new wars? Or did you just go along with him and change your mind now that he's diametrically changed his policy?

If Russia decided to invade Greenland you know who is thete to defend it?

We already have military there so all we have to do is walk out of the gate.

Besides we will just buy it.

Russia only has washing machines and shovels to fight with, so that is not possible. You probably didn't get the memo, they ran out of ammo years ago.

Greenland is self governing and can declare independence if they choose. They haven’t been a colony for 70 years. They aren’t selling themselves to someone who clearly wants to take over their administration and harvest their resources (you know, like an actual colonial power).

You guys can look for reasons to sanewash Trump, but the US isn’t getting Greenland without military annexation.

If someone invaded your hometown, you'd just let them walk all over you without a fight? You clearly don't know Danish folks.

Again, would you send a son / grandson to Greenland to steal their land and potentially be killed in combat? Because there is no "walk out of the gate" and own Greenland militarily.

Well, logically speaking whenever the U.S. gets in a fight, we lose than pay the victor for killing our guys.... so with that in mind, us invading should earn each Greenlander significant amount of funds once we lose.

But I have an alternative plan, we just pay them for not kicking our asses and call it even.

They’re not much different than PR or any of our territories so yeah they’re a colony.

BUT... Denmark is not taking advantage of these resources. If USA develops them, Denmark would reap the rewards without having to expend anything. If Denmark does not plan to extract the recourses (keep land pristine), then that's a whole new ballgame, i.e. Denmark is standing on principal. They merely want their territory and USA probably can't do anything about that.

They don't want to, but even if they change their mind -- they can contract just like the U.S. or any other country does. Not sure what the difference is. If they want to further develop or extract, they can and they would be in control of how that is done.

So then, what could USA offer Denmark. I know, "nothing", but if you were Denmark in your wildest dreams, what would you want - Maine, Alaska? He-he.

Probably nothing imo, 1.) the U.S. is clearly not to be trusted by anyone 2.) phony money scam... looks like we might be up on that.

But yes, your point is well taken... what assets are you giving in return? Like something of value.

It’s smart for Denmark to include forces from other NATO members. Taking Greenland militarily could risk confrontation with other NATO forces. That should be a deterrent to Trump, but who knows.
