EU working on sanctions against US over Greenland plans
The EU is working on sanctions against American companies over US President Donald Trump's plans to acquire Greenland, The Sunday Telegraph noted, citing sources, Report informs.

According to the paper, "technology giants such as Meta, Google, Microsoft and X could be restricted from operating on the continent, as could American banks and financial firms."

The newspaper points out that "a more extreme option could be to evict the US military from its bases in Europe, denying it a key staging post for operations in the Middle East and elsewhere."

As I mentioned in the Ukraine thread in 2022, the real fun begins when Europe figures out the U.S. is an enemy. They're starting to figure it out, but its probably too late. Thinking outside the box, the executive branch wouldn't need Congressional approval to leave NATO if all the other countries leave NATO.

I don't see the point of all the sanctions, if Trump wanted to continue to escalation... we're probably looking at the reboot.

Actually willing buyers and sellers have the Trump coin worth about $5.40.

I don’t know anything about watches. But DJT is just licensing his NIL on those. He’ll be fine no matter how well they sell or not.

I think his family is going to have much more problem than what those coins are worth if this baby resets.

Trump coins might have established a base (at least until January 2029). But those that believe it is over priced have the opportunity to make a **** ton of cash shorting them. Apparently some have 10x leveraged short positions in that CC.

So, would it come down to a referendum of the people there plus a cash payment?

If so, what sort of percentage of votes need to come to USA - 75-80 % ?
Cost? I'm guessing 300B.

Its worth at least trillions. The bigger problem is the U.S. just isn't a trusted business partner of any type. If law or international law has no value as far as trump is concern, why would you want to do something even if you wanted the phony money?

Not sure if true, but it wouldn't surprise me, they should have listened in 2022. Looks like a preliminary draft, I would expect this would only be a potential early stage.

I think we will see more countries start to explore this. 🤷‍♂️

French MP calls for planned NATO exit after Trump row | TURDEF

Clémence Guetté, Vice-President of the French National Assembly and an LFI MP, said she would submit a proposed resolution calling for a “planned exit” from NATO, beginning with France’s withdrawal from the Alliance’s integrated military command.

From the mid-1960s to the early 1990s, Danish authorities ran a systematic campaign to reduce Greenland's birth rate by inserting intrauterine devices (IUDs) into thousands of Inuit women and girls, many without their full knowledge or consent.

This program, known as the "spiral case" (Danish for IUD case), was a state-sponsored population control measure aimed at curbing the high birth rate in Greenland at the time, which Danish officials linked to the costs of modernizing the territory.
Key details of the campaign include:
  • Scale: An estimated 4,500 women and girls—roughly half the fertile female population in Greenland at the time—received IUDs between 1966 and 1970 alone.
  • Lack of Consent: In many cases, the women were not informed about the procedure or its long-term effects, and parental consent was often not obtained for minors. Girls as young as 12 were affected.
  • Health Consequences: The IUDs used were often too large for young, never-pregnant girls and women, leading to severe pain, infections, heavy bleeding, and in some cases, permanent infertility or the need for a hysterectomy.
  • Impact: The campaign drastically halved the birth rate in Greenland within a few years.
  • Aftermath: The practice officially ended in 1991 when Greenland took over its healthcare system, but some women have reported non-consensual incidents occurring after that date.
The Danish government and the government of Greenland formally apologized for the actions in 2025 following public pressure and an official investigation. Many of the affected women have filed lawsuits against the Danish state for compensation.

A group of nearly 150 women have filed a lawsuit against the Danish state over the forced birth control program (known as the "spiral case" or "loop campaign"). The Danish government has recently agreed to compensate the victims, settling the legal fight.

Key Details of the Lawsuit and Compensation
  • Number of Plaintiffs: A group of 143 women initially filed the lawsuit, seeking justice and acknowledgment for the human rights violations they experienced.
  • Compensation Amount: The women each demanded 300,000 Danish kroner (approximately $46,000 USD) in compensation.
  • Outcome: In December 2025, the Danish parliament and government agreed to a compensation system that will provide 300,000 DKK to all eligible women who were forcibly fitted with IUDs without their consent between 1960 and 1991. An estimated 4,500 women may be eligible to apply for payouts starting in April of the following year.
  • Apologies: Both the Danish and Greenlandic governments have issued formal apologies for the program.
  • Ongoing Investigation: An independent, impartial investigation into the scope and decision-making behind the birth control campaign was launched in 2023, with its final report expected in early 2026.
The lawsuit was a significant step, leading to a legal victory for the victims and official acknowledgment of the widespread abuse by Danish health authorities.

So this is the MAGA 'red herring' argument that you guys are going to try to sell people on?

I think its idiotic.
what is idiotic show Danish have no concern for Greenlanders?

Hans Mahncke
@HansMahncke

"In light of that history, Denmark has no moral standing to lecture anyone about Greenland, its people, or its future, and it certainly does not deserve compensation of any kind for relinquishing control. This was the conduct of a colonial power engaged in population control, extending well into the modern era. Denmark should disappear from the discussion entirely and leave Greenland and its people free of any further interference or pretense."
