I don't think Greenland matters at all as an actual issue. Trump will either get some kind of military/rare minerals deal to save face, or the US will buy Greenland, or nothing will happen at all.

I'm no lefty. I'm center right leaning, but....we're not talking about a mutually agreed upon "annexation" of Greenland. If Greenlanders and Denmark are opposed to it via purchase or other means, then that should be the end of it. If Greenland is interested in negotiating mineral rights deals, etc., okay fine. That's their call. Otherwise, it's completely asinine for Trump to be sabre rattling and talking military action. If he wants to land grab for REMs, then lets see him get all bowed up on China.
