The weird thing about LSU is that it's easier to come up with top 50 basketball players (Shaq, Pete Maravich, Bob Pettit) from there than football players.

Sure, they've had a lot of good players, but not a ton of elite NFL players. Maybe Joe Burrow gets there, but we don't know yet. Outside of him, who do you go with as best football player? Odell Beckham? Patrick Peterson? Tyrann Mathieu? Billy Cannon? Leonard Fournette?

I actually think the correct answer is Y.A. Tittle. He was an elite QB back in the 60s. MVP in 1963. But kind of a long time ago; before there were even Super Bowls.

First NFL game I can recall was YA Tittle winning the championship with the Giants on tv. He took off his helmet and looked like an old man with blood running down his head.

Close. They lost to the Bears in 1963 when that famous photo was taken of him on his knees with blood running down from his bald head.
