Tennessee – Reggie White – NFL

The late, great Reggie White was born and raised in Chattanooga ad played college ball at the University of Tennessee. Ranked second all-time with 198 sacks in his career, White was a menace on the field and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006.

The OBC could've gone pro in a few different sports... every time he picked up a ball, he eventually mastered the sport. My old man used to play pickup basketball games with him at UF, and sometimes even with some of the UF players, and he was always one of the best players on the court at any given time... left a lasting impression on him.

This list is crap. No doubt tennis players are high level athletes (when they aren't standing around whining at the officials), but to list them over football, basketball, and track athletes is insane.

If Serena Williams had been born in Tennessee, she would have a very good argument to be #1 on this list.

So all football, basketball and track athletes should be listed above the first tennessee players? Lol

Tennis players are individual performers with nowhere to hid. Serenas level of dominance is insane. She is and should be considered amoung the best athletes of all time

Greatness is more than just athletic skill. Character is a key ingredient. This is where Reggie White sets himself apart from others, as did Wilma Rudolph. Including Serena, regardless of where she's from.
