Cregg, Chaney and Browning did pretty well on the O line with 2 walkons and other guys who had no business playing. So did Monte. What's the excuse for Gran and his scholarship kicker and kickoff specialist?

What did you want him to do, juice them up with roids so they had stronger legs?

Sorry to break it to you, but there are certain other intricacies in special teams than just kicking the ball.

Never said that, just simply stating facts.

The point is, if you have a solid head coach, losing a position coach does not kill you. We still have our RC, DC, OC; do you think the only reason kids from Florida would consider coming to Tennessee is because Eddie Gran, or could it be that they want to come to Tennessee because of CLK, CMK, CEO, etc?

This really is just the beginning guys. How long before someone wants Jim Chaney? How about Coach O? Lance Thompson?

I only expect 2 members of the current staff to be here for awhile. The Kiffins.

Monte isn't getting any younger either.

Point is that its not Grans fault that Lincoln can't kick it over the o-line and Cunningham can't kick it past the 10.

I dont get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to do it. He does. You have to be the most fundamentally sound on special teams.

Wasn't Lincoln a Freshman All American a few years ago? I know he's had injury problems, but apparently the talent is/was there.

Well, if you know nothing about ST, then I would suggest refraining from the, "I hate to break it to you...." posts pretending that you have some type of knowledge about football that you obviously don't have.

I love Vol Nation but all of this let's jump off a bridge mentality is getting old if things don't go our way. Keep your heads up. These kids love CLK and what he is building here and some of them want to be a part of it and some don't but we will get our fair share and our staff will coach them and we will be successful!

Go Vols!!!!!!!!!

It happens everywhere. People leave and go onto other jobs. It is a normal process and they are replaced. If your team fails due to a few coaches leaving then you have problems. You should be able to find adequate, if not better replacements for the coaches. It sucks they are leaving but CLK should be able to replace them fairly easily. If not then he needs to look at himself.

Depends on who you bring it and how fast you can get them in.

Indeed, but you never know how this will effect the kids he was recruiting.

We have such a need to get great players and catch up to the elite teams in the conference that even a minor slip can set us back.

I do know that you're supposed to stay in your lanes on kickoff coverage until atleast the 40 and always have people remain between the returner and the near sideline. Our gunners also peeled towards the inside of the field when their responsibility is the 5 yards closest to the sideline. Any more pretending I need to do chief?

It's called less than stellar kickers. Ever heard of that one before?

Let's just bring back The Fired Coach so we don't have to worry about losing assistants ever again.

Yep, the future success of this program solely depends on our ability to bring in a running backs coach.

Either you just like to argue or you are just misconstruing what I'm saying.

Gran=good coach, better recruiter.
Losing Gran=hurts in recruiting, temporarily or not, it hurts.

And Gran and Kiffin continuously preached this. At some point, it gets down to execution. Also, we were hurt many times this year because of Cunningham line driving kicks to the 15 yd line.

I have heard ole #25 be mentioned as a possible replacement, anybody know good of a recruiter he is? I'm sure he is a more than adequate coach.

So, with the last staff, we blamed execution on the coaches. Now with this one we blame it on the players?

Ever thought of the fact that there is more than one good coach out there that can recruit in South Florida? It obviously has escaped you.
