Good job Ainge (Merged)

I honestly think that everyone will miss Ainge next year. Our offense is going to be terrible.

No way. You are completely wrong. Do you watch football? Everyone but Ainge and Brown come back. Brown will be missed but was not used as much as he could have been. Ainge will be easily replaced. He is scared in the pocket, always throws off his back foot, and can't run at all. Ainge also has no leadership skills. Crompton will be a leader, is athletic, and at least has balls. Ainge normally doesn't make mistakes, but not many plays. Today he did neither and cost us the game. Ainge sealed his legacy today as a disappointment.
Running backs, line, and receivers should all be VERY strong next year.:good!:

Uhhh...yes he will. In case you missed it, Peyton Manning even cost the Vols a few games with his interceptions.

Ainge is a big reason we lost this game, but it has nothing to do with his NFL capabilities. lol

He will never play on Sunday. He is too soft against a rush. Some guys can stand in amd get the ball delivered. He has proven time after time he can not. We all know the rush is more intense in the NFL. He wouldn't stand a chance.

Ainge spent 4 effing years at one of the nation's best football schools and he never, eeeeeeever, had a great performance in an important game.

Say what you want about dropped passes, but dropped passes don't give 6 points directly to the other team.

Ainge lost the game.

No there are not enough threads. I say play Crompton in the bowl game and get him some experience heading into next year.

I guess nobody has to wonder about Ainge's legacy now.....yes he has the completion record with all of his amazing 5 yard passes. But he will quickly be forgotten in the annals of UT football history.

You've got to be kidding me.... A SENIOR QB in the biggest game of his career throws two interceptions in the fourth quarter. Does anybody remember "Stick With Rick"? The writing was on the wall. In big games, winner's step up, they don't step up and throw it directly into coverage. WTF???? They were'nt event close. Ainge... Good riddance...

I think my views on Ainge have been documented on this site often. I don't think I need to go any further. I will just sit back and watch the feeding frenzy.

Rasputin Vol in 5...4...3...2....1

As have I, but I just can't fathom why Ainge, in the biggest game of his career, would/could possibly play THAT bad. This loss is ALL on his shoulders.

IMO it will be this game. He is talented but not a top level QB. Not worth bashing him anymore as he will spend a longtime thinking about how he let his teammates down. I hope to forget about him the day I am lucky enough to never see him in a UT jersey again.

Bench Ainge for whatever bowl we end up getting. That kid for whatever reason, single handdely withint 7 minutes of the game took the lead away from kids who played their hearts out for UT. Somebody should call the FBI and have his and his family's donkey's investigated for money paid off by way of organized crime. I forgave the pick in the flats wihcih gave LSU the lead, even though middle school QBs know better than to throw that route out of your own end of the field. But when he hit the kid between the numbers for the 2ND pick I knew the fix was in place. Bench the kid in disgrace for the bowl game and have him and his family and friends investigated, money changed hands somewhere is my opinion. DO NOT TAKE A WEST COAST QB TO UT UNDER CIRCUMSTANCES FROM HERE ON OUT!

He couldn't stand up to a three man rush, how the hell is he gonna play in the NFL?

Aren't we all great "arm chair QB's". Ainge is still a good QB. He will still go, in the first round!

Just my opinion

Im still a Vol fan,, through and through

the vols running game is nonexistent. considering that, I will give erik some slack. that being said, hard to explain the fourth quarter picks. I dont know if he is trying too hard to make a play or what. if tn could run the ball worth a lick a lot of this would be taken care of. just soo pissed right now!

I was an Ainge defender as well, and this singular game turned it for me. As I said in the game thread, any senior QB worth his salt responds to that INT for TD. And he responded with another INT

Dear Bobby Lane,

You're out of your mind if you think Erik Ainge will be a first round draft pick.

Sincerely,

Sanity

Well I mean just to go back over my views on Ainge. I've said many times he's an Average at best quarterback, he is scared to get hit, he goes blank when any kind of pressure is present, and never attempts to step up and make something happen.

On the pass dropped by Moore on 4th and 4, he could have stepped up in the pocket and moon walked for the first down. I know if that pass was caught it's a first down but does he really not belive in his legs that much?

Exactly, like many have said....he's scared to get hit and can NOT play under duress. NFL QB he's not.

I'll fully admit I'm eating crow about what I've said in Ainge's defense. He's made some very good plays, and is not as pedestrian as some people are making him out to be. Keep in mind LSU has a very good defense, but... BUT his decisions (which is usually his most pristine quality) in this game were horrible. You can try making blames... but would you blame a Senior QB or a Freshman WR? Come on... I looked past the first Int but was in total (yeah, quote and flame me..) surprise that he threw the 2nd Int. I actually was gullible/orange kool-aid/whatever enough to believe that Ainge could shoulder the team and take them home. He didn't.

We do have a lot to look forward to next year though. These guys have been to the SECCG and blood is in their mouth. I hope they don't forget how close they were to earning the trophy.

Yeah. Your right on that one. I remember that jackass we had back in the 90's that kept losing to florida. Boy was he a loser.:whatever:
