As I've said before you are entirely too emotional/knee jerk. If every school fired their coach for losing to a mid major at home coaches would have about a 2 year max tenure at each school.
I understand that you don't want to see Tennessee fall back into being irrelevant in basketball again, but do you really think hiring and firing a coach each year is the best idea for the program?
I'm all for canning someone who hasn't been succesful, and who hasn't met standards that were expected of him. But what, in the grand scheme of things, has CCM truly done to warrant being fired? I dont care that you're upset about losing to memphis and MTSU, those are NCAA teams that were more experienced than UT and beat us. If you want to be mad about AP that's fine, I'm sure many people were, myself included. However, should 1 game in his first year, seriously decide a coaches future? If after next year we finish 15-15 and miss the NCAA and are still losing to mid majors regularly then ok, at that point a change may need to be thought about.
As i said though, what has he done to warrant being canned in his first year? Everyone on planet earth, except you, feels he met expectations or exceeded expectations in his first year when all things are considered. I suggest just taking a deep breath and counting to 10, and giving CCM more than 15 games to prove himself. After all, year 1 wasn't exactly a bad year, so let's reserve judgment til atleast year 2...
