So at this point, after their 15th loss, you still want him fired?

I'm not encouraged after playing our 34th game of the year getting whipped in every aspect by MTSU at home. And to quote another poster, "they didn't even try". That's about as bad as it gets.

I didn't ask if you were encouraged, I'm asking would you like him to be fired?

I would love to land a big hire and replace Martin. Sure. I'd love to have a coach with NCAA Touney experience at least.

But it looks like Martin will be here at least one more year. And that's not the worst thing in the world. If enough fans become complacent with 19-15 including the worst home loses we've had in two decades it makes the job that much more attractive to the next coach that can win big.

Well its funny you bring up a coach with tourney experience. What about Martins winning the conference experience. Winning an SEC Championships ever so often will keep us in the NCAA mostly. I will take conference supremacy over coaches that make the tournament based on one hot week from a conference tournament. That is the kind of coaches most athletic directors go get.

I'd say a loss to a d2 Indianapolis team was a bit more embarrassing.

Our of curiousity who would get your first 5 phone calls???

I can't tell if you are:

A) So misguided and dumb you actually believe this.

B) Are just trolling

C) Up Bruce Pearl's ass

D) Unrealistic.

I have a combination of all four to be honest.

And for the last ****ING time, MTSU is not an embarrassing loss.

It's funny to watch Martin apologists bring up Pearl in defense of their hero. The only thing most people liked about Pearl was his record. He was justly fired. You people should quit bringing Pearl into every thread and let him go already.

My statement said nothing about pearl, I simply referenced a game we lost.

You said we suffered the most embarrassing home loss in the last decade this year, I was asking worse than losing to d2 Indianapolis???

Yeah. I went to UT, graduated from the COE, have been a VASF/Tennessee Fund member for 17 years, and joined Volnation 5 years ago just so I could troll about a coach that went 19-15 with home loses to Austin Peay and MTSU.

You should stick with promoting our strong offensive sets against the zone and how crappy our players are despite Martin's awesome coaching abilities.

Yes. Austin Peay and MTSU are in our back yard. Both of those teams had Tennessee born players that UT didn't consider in recruiting and they came in and smoked us.

Wow. Ok.

Good to know you have proved yourself clueless and absolutely insane.

A loss to MTSU(a ncaa bubble team) is now worse than a loss to Indianapolis(a Dll team).

You've out done yourself this time.

Get over yourself. MTSU was never a bubble team. They had to win their conference tourney to qualify. If you want to argue losing to Indianapolis is worse than losing to MTSU go for it. I really don't care.

As I've said before you are entirely too emotional/knee jerk. If every school fired their coach for losing to a mid major at home coaches would have about a 2 year max tenure at each school.

I understand that you don't want to see Tennessee fall back into being irrelevant in basketball again, but do you really think hiring and firing a coach each year is the best idea for the program?

I'm all for canning someone who hasn't been succesful, and who hasn't met standards that were expected of him. But what, in the grand scheme of things, has CCM truly done to warrant being fired? I dont care that you're upset about losing to memphis and MTSU, those are NCAA teams that were more experienced than UT and beat us. If you want to be mad about AP that's fine, I'm sure many people were, myself included. However, should 1 game in his first year, seriously decide a coaches future? If after next year we finish 15-15 and miss the NCAA and are still losing to mid majors regularly then ok, at that point a change may need to be thought about.

As i said though, what has he done to warrant being canned in his first year? Everyone on planet earth, except you, feels he met expectations or exceeded expectations in his first year when all things are considered. I suggest just taking a deep breath and counting to 10, and giving CCM more than 15 games to prove himself. After all, year 1 wasn't exactly a bad year, so let's reserve judgment til atleast year 2...

No it wasn't. They are a good team with talent and a really good HC.

It just sucked.

I'll agree about the HC part. He was fired up, drew a tech, and got his players playing with fire. Our coach was saving our timeouts for next season and asking the refs if they were thirsty during breaks.

There's no arguing it sorry...

D2 Indianapolis 18-9

D1 MTSU 25-6

I'm sorry if you really think that's even a debate i can't help you

You still have yet to tell me who your first 5 phone calls would be to...
