Was reading the Ruby Tuesday thread and it brought back a lot of memories so thought it would be fun to start a thread listing places that have closed that we miss and might have some cool nostalgic stories you want to share.
Did a Ruby Tuesday's go out of business?

I worked at the one in West Town Mall in HS. Salad bar attendee/busboy. Fun experience. The girls working the front were cute and a few years older than me (I was barely 15). BOH was both wild and depressing. A bunch of 20-50 year olds with no direction. It was enough to make me realize I needed to have goals and not work in the food industry very long 😅

Ok I'll give my #1...my ride or die...

I knew this place first during middle school...Kyoto Steakhouse on Kingston Pike. It later became Miyabi's, and maybe even another name toward the end. To me and my family it was always "Kyoto Miyabi's".

It was THE GOAT hibachi place for us. Every one of my birthdays from about 10 till I moved away (~28) was spent there. Mostly family, but even later on my GFs and friends would take me there for birthdays.

I still can't quite get over it being gone. The rice was to die for. After they shut down, dozens of folks asked on their page how to replicate it, but still yet to know. It was this incredible combination of sticky fried rice, butter, oil(?), not sure what else. None of that commercial hibachi crap like peas and carrots and onions. Just straight fried rice and it was unforgettable. On top of that...the steak...the shrimp...the special sauce. It's something I fear I'll never experience again. A true family memorial.
