Fellow brethren, we have found ourselves in a pivotal area where we need to bow up and do what we can for these boys. For us fans, the past 3 years have been nothing short of tumultuous. We are on our 3rd head coach, 3rd set of assistant coaches, and that's not even beginning to speak about the system changes as a whole. What I'm saying is that most of us honestly have no clue as to what to expect to see or feel for the upcoming season.

What I really want to ask is for you to put yourselves in the place of our boys on the team. If our heads are spinning like crazy, just imagine how they feel. Many chose to wear the Orange and White (of course they are capitalized) because of what they believed this place to be. Sadly, it has not worked out as what they were sold upon. What I do know is that the ones who are here and have stuck around are going to do what it takes to represent us as well as possible on the field. They will play their butts off and be as proud to wear the Orange as we are. It's almost as if these kids have been through multiple divorces, we just need to be there for them.

Through my rambling, what I'm asking is for all of us to hold strong and be there for these kids, we're all they have. The fans are the only constant these kids have in their lives, and I ask all of you to represent why they chose to come here and give them the satisfaction that no matter who lies and leaves them high and dry, we'll always be here for them.

Now, I'm not saying to be ignorant fans and watch our program go down the drain, to just sit on our hands and be positive about it, not what I'm asking for at all. These coaches and athletic administrators are grown men, and should be treated as such. They get paid (handsomely) for what they do, and we should hold them accountable for where we stand as well as where we are going. Be fair, give the time it takes, but I'm definitely not asking you to turn a blind eye and let things fall apart (if they do). Support Dooley and his coaches, and we will take it one game at a time.

Go Big Orange.

I bet the players are just praying that Billy Bob up in Section OO is still on their side. That'll make all the difference when Florida is pounding the entrails out of them. At least their self esteem and feeling of family will be intact.

Yeah, none of the players come here for the large stadium and gameday experience. You're right. Let's get the players you want, the ones who don't care. Hey, better get that Bryce Brown autograph while you can, I think he's heading out the door.

I'll tell you what, let's take your approach to it. The "fairweather fan" approach. We can show up and cheer when they are good and ranked in the top 10, but if not, why bother? You're everything I hate about some of the people who call themselves fans. Blame the players, screw em! Why even support them?

If they came here for any reasons besides winning championships, getting an education, and trying to get a shot at the NFL, we're recruiting the wrong guys. "Gameday experience?" I'm sure the roster is packed with guys who said "Wow, did you hear the band play Ironman for the 55th time today? I want to sign here."

Let me guess, on most gamedays, I bet you rarely find yourself with orange on. "Ahhh, Saturday is here, better put on this plain green shirt."

A Bette Midler song would have been more appropriate. The OP probably has the Beaches soundtrack playing beneath a UT highlight video.

Yeah, recruiting trips never end up in Neyland Stadium...

Yep, who wants passionate players...

Funny, that sounds exactly like the texts from Kiffin and Orgeron. That worked out great. Bryce, where you at???

Well done, quite hilarious.

It's easy to spot the ones who never played sports in life...

I bet your athletic resume consists of sitting on the bench for some meaningless, backwoods high school, then being the last guy into the game for the Baptist Student Union in intramurals. Mine's a little more impressive.

in all seriousness, they are going to need your support.

the seniors on that squad have been through hell. they signed to play for a coach who was fired. they bought into what kiffin was selling and were left high and dry.

they have seen several teammates and friends leave in one manner or another.

they didn't ask for this mess. they are probably giving it their all and have not had the success to show for it that they anticipated when they came to tennessee.

it may not be pretty on the field this year, but these aren't professionals. they should be saluted for being there and putting out a good effort and hard work which will probably never be fondly remembered.

This sight is really getting old . It seems like all this place does is take cheap shots at other fans. Lets see who will be the first "kid" to make fun of my post.Lets talk about football not who misspelled what or who was first to respond.

Do you mean guys who want it? Won't that require a bunch of work for whoever has to assemble the makeshift crosses to carry and remove the sleeves from a 100 or so polo shirts?

Wow, pulling out the big guns eh? Creative joke. Have anything else for us? Maybe a Jimmy Hyams one, or even stretch the brain for a Fulmer-Krispy Kreme one.

You are too funny, seriously. In one thread, we are blessed with a "Beaches" joke, as well as the new "Guys who want it", we know everyone can't wait to hear that old chestnut.
