Is Tucker a better defensive mind than Smart, Saban, or Muschamp? Is he a better recruiter than any of those guys? Alabama had long passed Tennessee, Georgia has this year by a good bit, Florida is less talented but that will change quickly with Mullen, Carolina is poised to surpass Tennessee as well.

We had a chance to get someone like Leach who consistently beats elite coaches with less talent, Brohm who is like Petrino without the extra baggage, or even Morris whose record sucks but his offense is killing people at Clemson. All of the three above are thought of as great offensive minds. And if we land Mel Tucker, people will rationalize how great he is. We're going to get our asses kicked for the next four or five years if this happens.

okay volnation before you get all up in arms let me ask you a question.... If want to buy something and there is a brand that you recognize and one you don't, even if the "brand name" is 5$ more usually it gets picked first...

It is much like mel tucker although the brand recognition is much less the end product is arguably more value able... So in the end volnation... If/when mel tucker gets hired do your research before getting all "up in arms" about him...
He is a great defensive coach and a a+ hire in my book... And the proof is in his stats....

If it's Tucker, then Fulmer made no effort other than to find a coach that he could control. If it doesn't end well it should be the last thing he ever has to do with this Athletic Department.

Yea he just would have found someone with 2 National championship Rings tons of college experience and NFL experience that also was a interim head coach for the jags has sec championship and a big ten championship nothing huge. That stuff is easy to do.

I think Steele is worse but with Tucker we're looking at doing this again in a few years. Fulmer promised teams the fans could be proud of and we're looking at Tee Martin, Mel Tucker, and Kevin Steele? Who in the F would be proud of a hire like that at a prominent program? Didnt Phil say we had the facilities and support to play with anyone in the country? Who else in the country is pursuing these three guys?

He had top ten defenses in the NFL. He had two bad years with one of the worst rosters with the Bears. He now has a top ten defense at UGA. He is a great coach.

I see he is going to get the Tee treatment. Lie about his resume to make it look like he is incompetent. Yall cant use inexperienced so I see his record is going to get twisted.

What I see is, points allowed while with Jacksonville: 24th, 27th, 11th, 29th.
