The guy here at New Mexico is doing pretty good. And believe me, I can see that it's hard to win here.

Not a chance. Heupel is going to surround himself with guys he feels comfortable with. Likely with a similar demeanor and personality. Durkin and Heupel would be like oil and water.

Saban was the ultimate alpha coach. He was so sure of himself and so driven to win that he'd hire pure assassins to his staff. They were all super ambitious and super competitive. That was one reason for their long history of elite play. That's not something I'd ever expect from Heupel.

Looks like you’ll get your wish. Heupel isn’t going to make tough decisions. He’s filled his offensive staff with buddies and inside promotions that would never get the job anywhere else. Defense? Rodney Garner was sitting on the door step when he got here. Who else has he hired that’s been worth a shot? Answer: no one. Who’s he fired? No one.
Sorry, but he doesn’t have the stones. His offense has been solved, even when he was forced to make adjustments. Any team with a modicum of talent has made UT look pathetic. 3 points in the 2nd half.

One other thing. It's not just the DC he needs to address. Heupel either needs to hand off the play calling to his OC or he needs to cut him loose and hire a guy he can trust to run this offense.

Let's be honest, this notion that Heupel's offense is some closely guarded secret he can't reveal to an outsider. Utter hogwash. Get a real OC and stop looking clueless as a game manager in crunch time. There are other assistants that need to be upgraded as well

I agree that we need coaching changes, just don't want it to be Durkin.
