Give Jones credit

Just being nosey. What sport did you play?

So far I haven't seen CBJ back down from expectations for 2017. He seems to still think we are on our way up. With our new QB it's up in the air what happens next. I think their training will kick in and we will have the breakout year that we could have had these past 2 years.

Release the Beast!

what would you expect, or want, him to say otherwise? sales people don't close the deal by spilling the dirt on their product.

they let the customer figure it out on their own.:p

CBJ needs 2 more years to prove his worth. He has brought in some amazing coaches. his recruiting classes over the past 4 years are better than Clemson's. He has to go 10+ wins this year and win SEC in 2018. if he only has 9 wins each of the next 2 years. It will then be time to go after the next great coach PJ Fleck.
if anyone on here wins the next 300 mil lottery then you can make a phone call or 10 to get us someone better and faster.

I did not have any scholarships, I paid for college the old fashioned way, I paid for it. Class of 93

That's a wild scene.

Too many aces hit him in the head.

I'm fine with what he says. There are times on the sidelines he gets too emotional, but other than that he acts like a coach.

People wondered if his loyalty to his staff would keep him from doing what he needs to do. However only Azzanni and Thig remain from the initial staff in 2013. He not only has made changes, but upgraded. I realize this doesn't change everything, and wins are necessary, but definitely does answer a question a lot of us needed answered.

Go Vols!

Someone left to better jobs as well

That's a wild scene.

It was crazy at times, especially when our coach invited cheerleaders to few of our tennis matches. It was NOT easy to focus on tennis with those gorgeous girls being thrown up in the air right behind the fence. I also became lifelong friend with several football and basketball players. Fun times I will never forget.

Change requires courage and discipline. it is very easy to accept the status quo. So many complain about our coach, but I appreciate the adjustments to the staff and game planning. It is not viable to say that CBJ is satisfied.

Or it means he failed in assembling the best staff in America and is just now addressing it.

That Wells won't get it done in the SEC because Butch didn't rehire the only good OL coach that we've ever had.

However if we are talking the all times Vols OL royalty then Philip Fulmer comes on top. He was the UT all-sec offensive guard (Vols went 30-5 during his playing days, including Sugar bowl win), then highly successful OL coach, and finally NC winning and hall of fame head coach.

However if we are talking the all times Vols OL royalty then Philip Fulmer comes on top. He was the UT all-sec offensive guard (Vols went 30-5 during his playing days, including Sugar bowl win), then highly successful OL coach, and finally NC winning and hall of fame head coach.

But? He had NO experience as an OL coach (5 total in any capacity between Wichita State and Vandy...thanks BaldBiker) before he took that gig in 1980? Where oh where was VN to gently inform us how mediocre a hire that was? :)

Losing to Vanderbilt twice will force any coach to make changes in his staff.

So what? For every other assistant coach that got their first gig somewhere with no experience probably over 90% end up failing. At least Fulmer was a former star player who came back to coach the same position he played at his alma mater - that could have been the contributing and/or differentiating factor to his long term success.
