CJP will be able to make a good hire. He can probably guarantee 3 years, which is a lot for an assistant. My guess is that CRG was expected to make some things happen on NSD and it didn't work out so he's gone. Frankly, I am more interested in how that 2019 top class is going to happen.

We have an Alabama person as the HC - no need to move to support Bama.

Seriously though I am a fan, just not drinking the kool-aid again. I had hoped we would end up with a proven HC that would excite the fan base - but that is not where we landed.

Then maybe you didnt read the 2 or 3 posts that noted that he was reportedly let go, i.e. fired. Or perhaps just didnt renew contract, etc but it doesnt seem like it was his choice.

Makes you wonder if something surfaced, a skeleton in the closet. Maybe an affair, pending sexual harassment claim...As long as it didn't involve a recruiting violation!

Appreciate all coach G did for us. He will get another job somewhere soon. I had a co-worker today, who played the position In college and coached a couple years as well. He told me the hardest thing to teach a running back in college to do is pick up the blocking schemes and blitz pick up and route running. The vision, balance speed and quickness he either has it or he doesn’t. I believe coach G did a good job at the blocking part and blitz pick up Hurd, and Kelly were good blockers and Kamara worked hard to become a serviceable one.

Meh. Like a million other coaches. We have lost good coaches. We can get another good ones. It's not like we can't get another th coach. It's a rb coach. Not like fuller is leaving.

Honestly Hardesty is the most obvious option . Already onstaff, former vol some experience coaching. I would say if not him Weinke is the next most likely.

If Jones would have had a shred of sense he would have gotten Weinke on staff last year instead of Canales.

I don't care if he is coaching out of position or not but he would be a big plus in recruiting with IMG on the resume.
