It's getting a bit strange to see so many players basically dissing the fans. If this were a professional team/athletes, they'd be getting torn apart right now for hating on those who pay their salary, so to speak.

Hey, it should be the same in college. Us taxpayers are paying for thier education, so we should be able to criticize as much as we like.

Worse still, and more damning, is that taken as a whole.....the legion of disgruntled fans, the weak excuses from the head coach, and the clueless comments from a few of the players.....are all signs of a team that is literally coming apart at the seams.

It's not good, from any angle.

go vols.

Eh, I'd be more upset if Jones said Fulmer's a dumb ass to be honest. That would mean the team's coming apart.

I'd rather have a guy taking up for his coaches than dissing them.

I agree, but he "dissed" the fans, and Crompton seems oblivious to the fact that his level of play is simply not SEC-caliber.

Both were mistakes. Don't alienate the fans, and don't assume that they don't know "lost" when they see it.

If this keeps up, the media will have a field day with it, and Fulmer's image will only suffer more.

go vols.

So Haslam and Thorton and the other private "investors" of UT pay for most right??

From what has been made public... yes.

When those donations go... so will the problem causing them to go. Then the UT President would probably become involved since the UTAD would require tax funds.

I'm pretty sure just about everything the UTAD does is funded by UTAD income and private donations to the UTAD.

I agree with everything you said but they are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I understand people being rightfully upset, but could we please stop parsing the words of every single interview and building in sinister meanings to everything anybody says? It's just a 20 year old who's pissed off, speaking off the cuff and standing up for the guy next to him. I wouldn't expect a lot of thoughtful prose.

I'm sure that we would all do the same, backed up in that situation.

Like I said earlier, I'd much rather have him taking up for the coaches than calling them out.

At least if the team sticks together there is a chance of them turning the season around.

Also, regardless of if Fulmer stays or goes... our players need to remain cohesive.

That would be bad. My question is, do you think that there is a point where the players start to call out the coaches, you know, in a roundabout way?
