How about getting a QB that can hand-off to a RB without hitting the FB and forgetting his fundamentals. You can only blame the coaches for so long before you ask yourself if the player actually gets it. It's like trying to blame a Harvard professor when a student just doesn't get it. (Not saying our coaches are comparable to Harvard professors, it was just a comparison.)

Didn't Casey Clausen make the exact same mistake as a junior?

I guess in some of ya'lls eyes Gerald hasn't PErformed??

He has done the best job of anyone on offense this year to date. He gives it 110% every play. However, comparing the fanbase to another fanbase that is probably tied for 1st in most hated by the fans wasn't exactly the brightest thing this young man has done. He's a great player Millwood, but why won't the coaches bite the bullet and put him at QB?? We need more threats than him at WR and our running game.

I'm about to get tired of these guys talking smack and not backing it up on the field "real fans" please we got the asses in the seats buddy we pay to see that sorry excuse of a team on the field. Hell high school teams look better and play better. If you dont want us to boo give us something to cheer about. Until you do we will by god boo.
Shut up and play ball Jones.

“you know who’s real fans when things go wrong,” said jones, a sophomore. “there’s a lot of things that say, ‘fire fulmer’ and ‘get (jonathan) crompton out of there and put jones at quarterback’ or ‘the receivers can’t win one-on-one’ and ‘(tailback) arian (foster)’s not running physical.’ i’m not worried about that. they might as well be florida fans because they’re saying the same exact thing.”

i agree with jones 100%

I know you're going to take up for your former player, but come on. Enough is enough. We've been fans of this team for a lot longer than Gerald has been around to understand Tennessee Football. You yourself even admitted the other night that Crompton seemed lost, or something to that effect. Just because we're UT fans doesn't mean we can't criticize that which needs criticizing.

Gerald Jones has played very well so far, and I don't think anyone would call him out, but there's a lot of talent on that field that needs to step up. By the way, I know you also said you know he can throw the ball. We even saw a glimpse of it in spring practice. Any idea when we'll get to see it on the field?

He is doing what players do. He’s defending his teammates and coaches. That's what they do. They view things much differently than those of us on the outside. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

He is being a great teammate.. heck i said somthin to him about Crompton the other day and he jumped my butt.. I like that.. I understand that you guys are die hard fans.. Things will get better.. Remember he is a 19 year old kid that is taking up for his coach and teammates.. You guys would do the same thing.. Plus you also have to look at it from their eyes too.. Nobody comes to your work and rips you when things are not going great and if they do its not 100, 000 +... I have been on this board for over a year now and I have seen a lot of people jump off the ship and then get right back on and I understand that stuff like that happens with fans.. And yes he is my guy, so if people are gonna start ripping him then im gonna defend him especially with somthin like this.. And I have no idea when they are gonna let him throw it,, I do know that he can do it very well..

Gerald Jones has been, in my opinion, the consistent bright spot in an offense that hasn't yet found it's "spark".

I do wonder why we haven't seen more WR screens with Jones. He makes plays and pretty much lays it all down every play, at least from what we've been able to see of him.

You can't get on Gerald for this just because you're not a Fulmer supporter (which most of us aren't). Every player is going to defend his teammates and coaches that are basically his family right now

That is fine Gerald. Stand up in defense of your coaches. But the fact is, if your teammates actions do not improve on the field, then 1 or more of your beloved coaches will be without a job at the end of the season.

What do you think will affect them more, a few boos from disgruntled fans or unemployment as a result of the actions (or inactions) of you and your teammates.
