Allegedly? Bring some facts. Otherwise you are believing what you want to believe.
There is no allegedly to whether or not there was a call.
Jones admitted on Knoxville radio to having talked to Wright on signing day after Wright called him at Trooper Taylor's urging. I listened to the interview myself. I think it was on the Drive with Hooker who was still here then. I often blur which stations the interviews are held on because they tend to interview the same people around the same time, so I can't be 100% certain it was Hooker and not Hyams that did the interview, and Jones might have been interviewed by both anyway.
Jones said he answered some questions Wright asked about what happened here during Jones playing days, specifically what happened during all the coaching changes. Jones said he gave honest answers, but did not speak badly about the program.
A lot of insiders said the phone call was a lot more negative than Jones claims. Wright was a hard lean up until right at the signing and most of the incoming class that had spoken with Wright and signed with UT were under the impression he was going to sign with UT. So believe what you will regarding the tone of the call.
Several people who claim(ed) to know Richardson have said Richardson got a similar call or was encouraged to call Jones by Taylor. The substance of those claims are fairly consistent, but the details are scant regarding any contact Richardson received other than Richardson took it as much more of a negative on Auburn's part than a positive.
Believe what you will from there. That there was a conversation of some sort between Jones and Wright initiated by Trooper Taylor prior to Wright signing a LOI to Auburn is certain. The tone, process that led to it, and the Richardson call are the subject of rumor and speculation.
