Georgia vs Ole Miss

But what if Golding does just that - win at the same levels? The truth is that you really don't know how a coach is going to pan out.

I remember in the midst of the last few coaching hires at UT, folks wanted a lot of coaches that went elsewhere that looked like they were going to be great, but then ended up getting fired at the other schools.

And the coach at Indiana is the one that everyone on here is 'over the moon' about, but given where he came from, there would have been mutiny in the ranks if he was hired.

You just don't know.

I fully expect for Golding to last at Ole Miss for 2 seasons.

And the main argument to leave is that he figured he had a “better shot” at an NC at LSU vs Ole Miss. Based on what I saw yesterday, it looks to me like a lot of schools have a chance today if you have money and evaluate properly. All 4 teams left played the transfer portal well and spent money wisely. It appears one can compete at Ole Miss too.
Sure, but who knows if that window of opportunity stays open. The powerhouses are going to adjust and at the end of the day they have more resources to keep try

Also it is a small sample size. What Cignetti is doing is unprecedented. And who knows if Ole Miss is just extra motivated becuase their coach took a perceivrd better job, and they wpuld have not had that gave them and their fambase an extra edge thet otherwise wpuld never have had.

Oh I agree about Ole Miss. They are hyper motivated. As is Indiana who has perpetually been a “have not”. And as far as the powerhouse teams re-tooling, yes they will. The difference now though is that a lot of teams can re-tool year to year and compete.

I do know that you wouldn’t have seen these semi-finals several years ago without several of the powerhouses. Oregon has been decent the last 5 years. Miami hasn’t been relevant since the 90’s. And we know Indiana and Ole Miss history. NIL and the portal have changed everything and I think it will continue.

Schadenfreude is a wonderful thing. So nice to see uga suck it and lose. Mean old refs, yadda yadda yadda - those refs did ALL THEY COULD to bail out that trash program. That run is OVER! georgia can now slide back into being a middle of the pack SEC school.

::: Waits for VolDawgs to drop by and tell me how mean I'm being and remind me we didn't even make the playoffs, yet assure me they are ALL VOL! :::
You think UGA will now be a middle of the pack SEC program? 🤣😂🤣 Smart money is on that not happening anytime soon! Of course, pun intended!

I agree for the most part, but Oregon hasn’t only been on the scene for the last 5 years. They’ve been a national contender the last quarter century and played for the national title in 2010 and 2014.
