Reviews coming in so far indicate it's living up to the hype. Folks are saying great things about the game so far. Should be in stores today or tomorrow.

Looks pretty crazy. The "Donnie Darko" REM song for the commerical kinda gives you an uneasy, morbid feeling

I like the commercial. It's freaking sweet in HD. Gives me an uneasy feeling as well.

(It's not REM. It's Gary Jules covering the original by Tears for Fears)

Really?! I swear that sounds like Micheal Stipe! Guess you learn something everyday...:good!:

I hadn't thought of Stipe until you said that, but I'll completely agree. No idea what the rest of that guy's stuff sounds like. I should probably see if I like his other music.

I picked up Gears of War tonight and have played it for an hour or two. It starts of kind of slow but it's a pretty decent game so far. I reminded me a litte of Halo starting out, I don't know why. The part I have gotten to now is pretty intense.

I would have to say that I am intrigued to play more to see how it turns out. I was mildly disappointed at first but the more I have played it seems to be growing on me some.

We will see how much time I end up spending on this one. I have a feeling it's going to collect dust with COD3 coming out tomorrow.

Not really all that interested in playing it, but the trailer with the song "Mad World" is one of the best i've seen for a video game.

Wish I could have played some more. It's interesting, but I need more time to decide if I like it.

I loaded it up, played 15 minutes and then had to run upstairs for a second...I though. About an hour and a half later after dealing with the dog, wife, taking out trash, etc. I was able to unpause it. So, all in all, I got about 30 minutes of gameplay in.

Seems good and certainly very pretty. Just not sure it's my type of game. The controls are different than traditional shooters which is taking me awhile to get.

The controls are different? Well, it seems that big-time XBox games might be changing a bit. :eek:k:

Next step, remove the guns and see if the system gets a decent game.

It's not that at all. I don't think I've ever played a game like this on a console. It's not a first person shooter, and it's really the first (or one of the first) game to have a button mapped just for cover. Glad to play something new, just takes awhile to get used to it.

I think True Crime had button exclusively for cover.

Ninja Gaiden doesn't have any guns... at least not for the user. :p

I played a bit more tonight and it's growing on me. I'm starting to figure out how things work and how to approach things. Using the chainsaw is a blast.
