Honestly, gay people are no different than heteros. A big misconception is that gay people are sex hounds that are horny 24/7. That's just not the case. Sure, he may be attracted to the same sex, but that doesn't mean that he's attracted to every guy in the world. Gay people understand boundaries. Don't let it scare you. Seriously.

Well I guess my true biggest fear is not getting mugged in Memphis, but the campus isn't up in the ghetto and my cousin is a grad from a couple years back and said it wasn't bad at all.

College will be some of the best years of your life. Don't worry about who your roommate will be your freshman year....they'll most likely end up being one of your best friends and continue to be for the rest of your life.

Oh, I understand that the culture shock can be difficult. It will be fine, though. Plus, if you are good friends/roommates with gay guys, girls love it.
