Gay Men

College will be some of the best years of your life. Don't worry about who your roommate will be your freshman year....they'll most likely end up being one of your best friends and continue to be for the rest of your life.

I haven't talked to mine but like...4-5 times since the end of freshman year (06). Never had a problem with him, though. Kinda weird

Oh, I understand that the culture shock can be difficult. It will be fine, though. Plus, if you are good friends/roommates with gay guys, girls love it.
That's true. When I was in college somebody told me one of the guys in our group of friends was gay and it surprised me because he was always hanging out with several good looking chicks at a time. I asked my brother why he hung out with the chicks so much if he was gay and his response "dude thinks he is a chick".

Culture shock would be correct, as I go to a small 1a school of about 250 kids and if there is a gay guy in my school they are going to do everything they can to hide it to save themselves the embarrassment. Hahaha and I'm assuming you've become friends with a couple over the years then?

Every girl wants a gay best friend. And if you get his vote of approval, you're getting laid.

Yeah, one of my friend's first roommate had a girl in their room like 4 nights out of the week. He ended up having to request to move because he never could get any sleep. Needless to say, they don't talk much, but most of the time you're going to meet someone that will help you through all the challenges of college your freshman year. It doesn't happen every time though.

I went to an all-guys HS in Memphis. There wasn't a single out guy there. Since then, at least 4 people I knew have come out.

As for at UT, I know plenty of gay guys. Never had an issue with a single one.

The real issue is whether you sit there in constant fear that they're gonna try to turn you gay. Believe me. They don't do that. If there's anyone that understands that either you're "gay" or "straight," it's a gay guy.

Girl I dated in college had best friend that was gay. Hung out with him too. Great guy lots of fun. Never knew he was gay till we went home for summer and she told me. If they don't want you to know you won't. And they know if you are not. We went to a bar in Dallas. She and I were the only "normal" couple in there. Kinda freaky. Was tense the whole time. Never got hit on. They know their own. Secret handshake or something. Best club music I ever heard that night.
