Gators are Scared!

CBJ turned the team over to the Captains.

See you in Knoxville.

What do you mean by this? Surely you're not trying to say that Jones is transferring some of his responsibilities and authority over to Dobbs, JRM, AK and Sutton. You're not saying that are you?

Unless this "Own It" business is just a bunch of junk. Yes. By taking on ownership, you also take responsibility along with authority to make decisions impacting the program.

See you in Tampa.

You think they're scared now....just wait

In a Q&A session today with the media, Butch defined the "own it" theme/mantra as players taking ownership of their individual attitudes and team expectations.

I don't think he means that the players "owning it" equals the 4 captains now shouldering Butch's coaching responsibilities. I mean, JRM isn't gonna set the practice schedule and Dobbs isn't gonna replace Butch at the media podium on Monday mornings during the season. Sutton ain't giving Thig and Gillespie a raise....that'll be Butch (and Hart).

Those 4 captains are gonna take on player leadership roles, but they're not being handed the reins to the program....those still very much belong to our $4mm headcoach.

Don't underestimate CBJ or the Captains. But no I don't think Butch is referring to pay rates.

Tennessee has lost 11 straight to Florida. Until that changes, and no matter how much spin you throw from drinking too much Orange Crush, we are not in their heads. They are in ours.

Let's try something new and exciting. Let's brag about wins AFTER they happen. Doing it now just looks like Candy.

You are off your rocker. I think you are taking his mantra about the captain's "owning it" and taking more responsibility a little too literally. Butch is not going to have them take on any sort of expectations that normally belong to the coach.

It's more like a shared responsibility. From the interviews I saw, the more responsibilities these young men take the better. I don't see Butch pumping the breaks on their leadership roles.

Example: JRM showed a video to the team, CBJ trusted him and didn't even preview it. That's giving ownership. Butch could have said, no , or I've got to see it first, but trusting JRM let him take ownership. Until he let's JRM drive his car, he don't trust him. He probably tells them it would be a violation. Although they let JD fly the plane.

That's out of bounds.

Agree. FL is not scared. They have talent. And a 11 game win streak to boot. Any Vols fan that thinks this is gonna be a walk in the park is sadly mistaken. We will have our hands full come Sept. 24th. Nonetheless , I do predict us winning.

Agree 100%..They definitely are not scared and have no reason to be. We have found ways to self destruct during this 11 game losing streak and no reason for them not to think it won't happen again until we prove it.

It took the worst stretch in the history of the program for y'all to claim "dominance". Many games were competitive, two just jump right out at you. Y'all have had a great run against a team that had lost it's way. We are back on track and will be playing Tn football.

See you in Knoxville.

Eh.. if you look at 1970 - 2004 (modern era) Florida was still 13-8 in those games. So, not sure you're right with regard to the whole 'worst stretch' deal.

Gators lost its star QB in Treeon Harris, but gotta new star named Luke DelRio, who does turn heads. Even the defense noticed. It may be the year, tho, that Butch and players get a win. This Gators is not scarred, but think the streak will end 23-17.

Pretty sure UF dominated UT during UT's so-called "Decade of Dominance"...and beyond.

The streak might very well end in September, but at least try to bring facts to the table.

This word, "star", it doesn't mean what you think it means. :)
