Gators are Scared!

Wow....seriously? So many people on this board seem so confident we blowout Florida and Georgia, but I don't see any reason to believe these won't be slugfests like always. Kirby will be itching to prove himself and I have been reading great things on Eason. You can bet that GA will throw the kitchen sink at us.

I hope all those blowouts wins people are predicting occur, but I just don't foresee anything but close games during that 4-game gauntlet.

Just giving an honest opinion. Don't believe that we'll blowout Florida, Bama or even TAM, but I do very much believe we'll handle Georgia. May be a tough, hard earned victory, but I can see a 34-17 type outcome.

The biggest takeaway from Florida's spring game was how the starting QB was throwing the ball on time. He went against the 2nd string defense but he was throwing the ball to the correct receiver and on time.

We have 3 warm up games before we head to Knoxville.

Sure he was on time. That was part of my point. He was on time when he was allowed to set up, read, and deliver. He can make the throws if allowed. I didn't see a ton of evidence to suguest yet that he could do it with heat in his face or on the run. Not saying they can't. But any opinion of sure success in the passing based on their spring game failed to see the whole picture.

I personally don't sweat Georgia at all. We would've rolled UGA last year if not for Hurd's fumble on the goaline which miraculously popped straight up in the air for Floyd to run back and the illegitimate punt return for TD that shouldn't have been allowed due to penalty.

The Dawgs have a new staff and either no QB or a true freshman QB.....I think we come out of Athens with a 17-24 point win.

Interesting assessment. So UT would've have rolled Georgia only for that fumble? What about Nick Chubb getting hurt on the first play? Would have had nothing to do with it?

Injuries don't count, unless we're talking about Justin Hunter in 2011.

It's true...if you were anywhere around this place five years ago, you'd know that a healthy Justin Hunter was the difference between winning and losing that day.

Just show some class and don't use injuries as the punch line.

I was at the game. Every one it the stadium knew that change the game, and yes the same for Chubb.

If we beat UGA, the "buyers remorse" will rear it's head in Athens - to a small degree.

Possibly. But you must not have watched the game last year. Tennessee was controlling the game all day long, even when down by 21, which was in large part due to the 2 fluke plays I mentioned. And from that point forward, after being down 24-3, we gathered ourselves and finished the game on a 35-7 run.

Chubb surely could've made a difference, we'll never know. What I do know is that historically, even when we're not a very good football team and Georgia is supposedly very good, we play them down to the wire or in fact beat them. I give you 2013, 2014 and 2006 as recent evidence.

Now throw in Jones in year 4, with a senior QB, the addition of one of the top DCs in the country and a handful of potential all-Americans and NFL draft picks and the most returning starters on the SECe....vs Smart in year 1, with either no or a true freshman QB while installing a new coaching system/philosophy.

Yeah, I got Tennessee winning pretty comfortably.

He made one throw on the run and was on the money with it. He had one throw away to avoid a sack on a blitz, which was a quick decision.

The most impressive passes he threw all day were two passes down the seem to receivers. This was a play that was completely taken away with Treon at QB.

I'm not sure that Del Rio will take over games and win them by himself but he will provide stability to the position, which is all he needs to do. Our line will be much improved from a year ago. Night and day.

There's a group of fans that are always on the lookout and "create" issues to get worked up over.

It cracks me up when a deliberate troll job, and not that great of one, is put before them and they fall for it.

I'm with ya.

One thing I will guarantee..shoop won't be playing it safe rushing 3 with a spy. No matter the score our DC will be blitzing with malice.

I am more worried about the Vandy game on 10/1 than I am of the Vol game. Our defense was embarrassed last year by Hurd and Dobbs, running the ball. I think they will be more than prepared for this game.

On the other side, the vols are going to play this game like it's their super bowl. They will be hearing about the streak for a week and a half before the game, all while being told they should kill UF.

Distractions, overconfidence and Butch Jones!

Gators win 27 - 9
They don't call you homer for nothing.
