:no:As a long time Gator fan, this is a shame. I apologize on behalf of Gator Nation. There are fans of every team this way. These games are still held on campuses of colleges, where you have a large portion being young, immature and even drunk students. Happens everywhere. I was at the UGA-Florida game, back in 2005, UGA won the game and my 70 year old father, that hadn't been to a UGA-UF game since the 1940's, and I were verbally insulted and profanity and stuffed Gator toys with rope around the neck, were thrown at us, as we walked through a UGA tailgating section. My father had to sit on a curve shortly afterwards, cause he had a pain in his chest, and two days later had a heart attack. Sometimes, SEC fans take football as being their lives and way too serious...and its a shame. Passion is passion. Respect is respect. Iam sure that every fan base can say the same about any away game (especially a night game) experienced on the road. The actions of a few ignorant fans, probably young and drunk, should NEVER be a true reflection upon a University and a football team, and also of game that is played by a bunch of 17, 18, 19, 20 year old young men. Iam once again sorry to hear of this article, and I hope the young man is in good condition and spirits.
once again for all you gator trolls that just don't seem to "get it".....telling us what happened at the UF/UGA game......nvm
