gas prices

I have a 2010 Honda Fit and a 92 Lexus SC400 as my play toy (5 speed transmission swap, all sorts of suspension goodies, two way LSD, etc)

Love Mazdas. Dollar for dollar, IMO, best-handling cars on the market. A Protege was my first car. Would love to have a Miata, but it's undeniably hard to be seen in public in one of those.

Nice. Any pics of the Soarer?

lol @ people who put regular gas (typically space age or arco) in late model luxury/sports cars that specifically call for premium

Save money now, spend money when your engine kills itself later

Knock sensors in late model cars prevent damage. Nerds car is boosted, so it's a no brainier. N/A cars will just retard the timing and prevent any significant damage, but still, why cheat your car? It's probably not gonna increase fuel economy, because it will kill power.

How does the car retard the timing? Just through the distributor? Or does it actually move the cams in some way?

I pegged Milo as more of a Delorean man. Sigh. Disappoint

Got the fit up to 88mph and it didn't do shat

No. The thing is actually in pieces, I started it on a diet last summer (ABS, sound deadening, etc) and still don't have new brake lines in it. I haven't had the time or inclination to finish it between work and school, and still have yet to purchase wheels. So it just looks like a regular green SC400. Wouldn't mind getting the Vertex kit and some Work VS-XX, though:

Yes, with boost it's a must, but just because newer cars retard timing doesn't mean they still can't ping. Some will, some won't.

Besides, you might be paying an extra 20c a gallon, but you might also get a 20% bump in fuel economy if the motor was designed for higher octane.

Does your car have a distributor?

A modern car will just alter the ignition timing curve :p

I'm sure you don't have a mechanical ignition system. Pretty outdated, bruh.

My Volvo was considered luxury in 1995 and says "unleaded" only. So I put unleaded regular gas in it. Am I doing this wrong?
