She said last summer 3 pt shooting was her biggest concern. She wasn't wrong.Kim started talking about going inside early, like last summer. I don't know if that was a change in philosophy based on her first year in the SEC or a recognition that the three-point shooting she had hoped for wasn't there.
It ended up her bigs were on the perimeter waiting o shoot threes and the guards were under the basket fro rebounding. That didn't work very well because the bigs didn't hit a high percentage of threes and the defense got almost all the rebounds. Don' win many close game with that combination. She said last summer 3 pt shooting was her biggest concern. She wasn't wrong.
Some portal misses hurt. Could be my bias, but its hard to imagine a true shooter wanting to play in 2 min spurts. They like rhythm
Spot on. I think for sure she’ll be back, and you’re right that she knew way back that they didn’t get what they needed with shooters and wanted to try to adjust some to going inside. I think it might help to grab a post who doesn’t mind banging and strong enough to handle the big girls inside when needed. Edwards looks very physically strong and might fill that role too. I’d still like to add a little more muscle inside from the portal though.Yes on 3pt shooters, and this team, at 30.7%, is about 2 points under the average for Kim's teams. And made 3 pointers help her system tremendously, so 1 or 2 here or there could have had an effect on not only outcomes, but the team psyche. Make it, hustle back, defend, score -- on a roll. Mis it, heads drop, other team scores -- negative roll. Shouldn't be that way, and Kim and her staff have clearly been trying to combat that, but, as she has said, "meltdowns." Don't know why this year more than others, but, there it is.
As for posts, we had Zee, Barker, and Wolfenbarger. Wolf whiffed. Zee for whatever reason hasn't been the same player this year as last. And Barker, well, today was an example. But, I think, with three in that range who could execute the press, slash, shoot the three, and rebound, Kim would think the defense would be enough. We just didn't end up with three who could do those things. Next year we've got Big Oh and... Yeah. Need some more.

I don't know if that was a change in philosophy based on her first year in the SEC or a recognition that the three-point shooting she had hoped for wasn't there. I'm assuming she will be back next year, so we will see what she gets and how she adapts to the lineup she has to start 2026-27.
Some complain about everything. Puckett. Tess, jewel might have been less talented than the upper class now, but they played with heart and wanted to winPeople had a lot to say about how much better we would be without Tess, Puckett, Jewel, and Jill who were too "unathletic." We are missing their shooting, paint defense, and leadership now. They represented the brand well too.
I forgot Sam Spencer who was critical last season.
At least she knows the problem on defense. However, she didn't mention getting defensive rebounds.Always the same speech we can't guard a post player or a point guard.
Amen. Edwards alone isn't enough inside.Spot on. I think for sure she’ll be back, and you’re right that she knew way back that they didn’t get what they needed with shooters and wanted to try to adjust some to going inside. I’m still waiting on all the apologies fromThe roster was flawed from day one. Seeing what they do about it in April.
You're right. Clearly she knew. Still not sure if she wouldn't have wanted more inside game, at least slashing in from the outside, as an adjustment to the SEC. And, yes, from what I could tell, we were after some portal players who might have been better in that role. She said last summer 3 pt shooting was her biggest concern. She wasn't wrong.

Not unreasonable. Not a certainty, but not unreasonable. We shall see how she does this spring on finishing up recruiting 2026 prospects and getting portal transfers.Could be my bias, but its hard to imagine a true shooter wanting to play in 2 min spurts. They like rhythm
Watching all basketball these days, I'm seeing that players are soft in both men and women's basketball. Everytime a person gets breathed on or touched the player falls to the floor acting like someone should call 911... It's not a good look for a beautiful game if played correctly.
You’ve been around long enough to understand that will never happen, unless you go back and collect receipts and quotes. Maybe not even then.I’m still waiting on all the apologies from
the people that attacked me, all because I said that in the offseason. I always look at a roster objectively, and I knew we didn’t have what we needed to compete for a Championship.
