Tennessee wins the game but it was a mixed bag effort today. The good news is Arnold pitch well when she had to, she showed some Grit, and on a hot day with a home plate ump who was wildly inconsistent in her calls, Arnold stuck with it and got the batters out when she needed to.
Geer and Gregg appear to be in midseason form, they're hitting right now is carrying the team. Leech and Vines are going to be okay at the top of the order they're getting on base as the table setters there supposed to be. Leech has also cleaned up her fielding at second, although she hasn't had a whole lot of chances in the first three games
Vine's is doing well at first base, she had the one dropped ball yesterday, but made no miscues today.
Mcswain had a bad day at catching today. She had two passed balls and missed catching a pop fly that was just a few feet over her head. Lockman comes on in relief at catcher and she does the same thing as short pop fly that's very catchable she misses. On the the positive lockman maybe getting her swing back she put her bat on the ball today couple of times, with the long home run.
The Outfield needs to work on their communication, they had the one miscue with geer and leech, that resulted in a dropped ball, and then the other incident with McClain and Holcombe, although McClain snagged the ball for an out. The first play was leeches to make, geer never should have called her off. The second play was McClain's to make all the way, and she did, Holcombe just needs to learn that it's the center fielders call not hers.
Chelsea let one ball get by her, otherwise the team looks to have a third baseman for the next four years.
One other thing, The Dugout is lifeless, the girls need to start chanting and cheering and yelling and hollering like the other teams do it. I don't know what's up with that, but I want to see some action and hear some noise.
