My guess is that alexvol was just continuing to poke fun at the suggestion that the only reasons this season was a bust was everybody ELSE’s fault, not Kim’s.

Thus the timing of his resignation and they had time to plan the next hire. Gabe has several options for where to go next and is weighing them.

I think there were some internal disagreements on philosophy but it was all taken and handled professionally. Everyone attempted to do their jobs to the best of their ability; it just didn’t work out. I don’t know any specifics about players/cancers/etc. but it something obviously stank the place up and it trickled down into the product on the court.

Sounds perfectly reasonable. And far less dramatic than everyone is imagining. Sounds like it was handled professionally. Kim is aware I’m sure that her philosophy is not for everyone.

He’s been the top assistant for one of the most successful programs in the ACC, this year non-withstanding, for the last five or six years. Good recruiter from what I understand, somebody who was listed as a head coaching candidate for mid major and some P5 jobs, well thought of in the coaching community as well.

She doesn't know any of these coaches it had to be someone else that has contacted this coach. It may not be Danny directly, but no way she found him and hired him the same day Gabe was leaving. Someone else is working behind the scenes.

The timing of the announcements is most certainly not indicative of the actual timeline of what transpired or the sequence of events. We may learn more later. We may never know. Or we may here two or more conflicting stories of what happened, when, and why.

Nobody wanted them the 1st go round and nobody wants them now, he has no choice but for them to stay, wouldn’t be surprised with his recent retirement he wouldn’t be given a job at UT to keep the girls around, wasn’t Kim’s husband given a job on Rick Barnes staff?

In all seriousness, if Edwards stays on board (which looks likely), I really wonder how CKC will utilize her. I would be shocked if Coop stays (though I think that would be awesome) and I am not sure on Civil either.

It seems like CKC system is really designed to be a no star system. Just keep sending in waves of cannon fodder players and hope the other side runs out of ammo first is the game plan.

She is going to have to adapt something I would hope to accommodate having a truly elite talent. If not, she will be digging her own coaching grave.

Good players but not for Plan A. You need elite guards and rim protector which only Coup matches but she was already on roster. You need 4 Coups and a rim protector. Wait you need 8 Coups and 2 rim protectors as you need two 5 man teams of equal ability. And that is hard to get without a lot of money. Maybe one elite team of 5 but not two elite teams.

Florida State was ranked as a Top 20 team for years during Coach Ferreira tenure. Saying anything to try to make a point that isn’t even a a good argument is just crazy. This guy has coached for over 10 years and had a lot of success. You don’t understand what embarrassing is if you think this fits that description.
His resume before coming to Tennessee is better than Coach Lazo resume before coming to Tennessee. I promise you would’ve never spoken Coach Lazo name if he hadn’t coached here in Knoxville. I wish him well but you are flat out wrong.

Gabe was "promoted" to Associate Head Coach at MSU just a very short while before he left. It was probably a case of too little, too late as he got a bigger dollar offer from TN. (By the way, his resignation at MSU was announced to the press the same day as his hiring was announced at TN, so at least MSU didn't try to claim he'd been fired! Although I think Cora Hall just got it wron in her first announcement draft, or somebody gave her bad info.)

Oh she was out there being lazy as hell & missing lay ups? Didnt know that. Thanks for clarifying that for me. I never saw her play the 1st min. Funny thing her system worked completely fine last year and previous stops Lord knows it couldn't be the overpaid lazy players that sucked all year. 100% coach issues. Every bit of it. Or the fact they played what 8-9 of the top 10 teams? Couldn't be they played teams just straight better than them. Na. Its TN they're the best no matter what
