It’s April Fools, first clue.

Because shes signed her letter of intent w TN, big O could not go to any other SEC school if she does not come here, second clue.

Agree probably April's fool - but couldn't Big O go to another SEC if Tennessee approved? I know some players have been able to do that.

And if she really did want to move on, it wouldn't look good for Tennessee to attempt to force her to come here - just saying.

Can incoming freshmen even enter the portal? I don’t think that’s a thing.
In a post-Singularity world, when there is a warp in the space-time continuum, Coach Thumper may appear, holding Elvis's guitar, while incoming freshmen walk through the portal. They sniff the air, turn around, and go back through the portal, never to be seen again.

They can't go to another SEC school without sitting out a year. I don't know if they could get out of their signing and go to another conference. Not to worried about Big O not being a Lady Vol at least next season. She is collecting a lot of cash from Adidas.

Not necessarily true about having to sit out a year

I do not think this is true. Didn’t Malaysia Fulwiley go from South Carolina to LSU without sitting?

Were not talking about transfers were talking about freshmen high school recruits. Sure any player can transfer that is already in school to any other school when the portal opens. High school freshmen who signed a letter of intent can't transfer to another SEC school until they spend a year at the school they signed with. I guess they could get out of it and go to another conference.

Again, the student-athlete can request an exception, even to in-conference school as an incoming freshman as long as they meet the academic requirements and are in good academic standing without sitting out a year

Personally, I think she feels she delegated too much on the recruiting because of the national recognition TN was receiving. I don't think she was happy with the team makeup this year and this is a reset. She knows that she has to deliver a much more competitive team this year and wants to have more control of that. Simply conjecture on my part.
Apparently she wasn't happy the makeup of last years team.

Apparently last year's team wasn't happy with her.
Every last one of them it seems, plus an assistant. In the working world, if a manager had everyone on their team quit, a good boss would not see the problem as the team lead and a dozen others but would look at the one common denominator. Bewildering to me that Danny doesn’t see that.

She must have batted her eyes at him and set his heart a-flutter; it's the only logical explanation for why she's being allowed to nuke this once great program

Are those exemptions usually granted? Who’s in charge of granting them?
I personally can't imagine that but I suppose it's possible.
Lol, the whole team and some of the coaches left and you ‘suppose’ it’s possible they weren’t happy with the coach?

It would be quite a twist if she actually told them all to hit the road, even while they were still happy with her.

Not sure what to believe here but AI says that the binding letters of intent were eliminated by the NCAA in 2024:

AI Overview

No, the National Letter of Intent (NLI) is no longer binding
.
The NCAA officially eliminated the NLI program in October 2024. It has been replaced by athletic financial aid agreements, which are not legally binding in the same way, allowing student-athletes more flexibility to change their minds without strict penalties.
Key details regarding the shift:
  • Previous Structure: Historically, the NLI was a binding contract for one academic year. Breaking it required sitting out one season.
  • Current Reality: Athletes now sign athletic grant-in-aid agreements. While this ensures the promised scholarship, it is not considered a "legally binding letter of intent," allowing athletes to move more freely.
  • Recruiting Status: Once a, Athletic Aid Agreement is signed, it still marks the end of the recruitment process for that school.
  • Exceptions: Rules still differ for transfers; athletes transferring from another four-year school must be in the NCAA Transfer Portal to sign.
